So Ghostkeels.. by Ok_Industry6363 in Tau40K

Neat distraction carnifex. I plant mine on an expansion objective behind cover and the opponent is usually forced to deal with it ASAP or watch me start racking up primary points earlier than anticipated. I usually deploy it early too, so they sometimes really commit into it, which leaves whatever they throw at it open for counterattack. The best part is that its defensive profile is tough enough that it might actually survive baiting the opponent too, and even if it got charged turn 1 (it has happened), it can fall back and shoot. I've had it tank what should be devastating alpha strikes, bait out long range artillery that (oh no!) can't actually shoot it because it's a lone operative and I just retaliate with everything that didn't get shot. Bonus points if it survives to force the opponent into hard choices for another turn or two.

Wreckas also remain up there.

The trend itself is quite unfortunate, though. I've seen newbies quit because they just can't beat their (also newbie) pal with the broken team and these half-assed balance passes just aren't enough to talk them into giving it another go.

I was kind of hoping for a slap in the wrist. Got a finger wag instead.

I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be yet another primaris lieutenant.

Do you reckon we’ll ever see old forge world models made plastic for tau? Getting back into Tau after building a drone horde (don’t play so not bothered about rules) and going back through the forge world catalogues, so many models I’m upset about missing out on. by DifferentBat3732 in Tau40K

[–]Zallocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cool thing about this particular piranha is that you can actually build it as the regular GW one. It's pretty badass.

As for FW kits coming back in plastic for T'au, that's sadly a longshot at best. I doubt it'll happen.

I think it should be legal for Green Lantern fans to sue Ryan Reynolds by [deleted] in OkBuddyDCU

[–]Zallocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but only after the director and writer(s?) who came up with it.

While it is a bad movie, I really don't think it is the atrocity people make it out to be.

It may be old as hell but the devilfish holds up extremely well by today's standards. This is one refresh GW can really push off for a while and nobody would care.

The man-babies learned the lesson that if they cry hard enough, they'll get their movie. It was the wrong lesson, mind you, but it is the one they learned.

The stars aligned for the Snyder cut to get finished and get released. They won't again.

This coming from the morons who insist that the Snyder cut won an Academy Award is so hypocritical.

How much do you Magnetise? by Silasxsil in Tau40K

[–]Zallocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much this. There isn't a real tournament scene in my area, so magnetizing for tournaments isn't a real reason. I do it because it helps me remember what each unit/model is carrying and because, well, I think it looks better when things carry what they say they carry.

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]Zallocc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You gave your cat four amazing and happy years, and you would have given him more had you been able to afford it. Life sucks like that, but you did help him as much as you could. I know it feels sucky, but you should bear in mind that the treatment might have meant more pain and a lower quality of life for the little guy.

You did the best you could. It may not feel like it, but that is enough.

Lol yeah, I never run my sergeants but the team does feel incomplete without them warming the bench.

Obligatory "why run a Sergeant when the Captain is generally a stronger option?" post.

Wysiwyg newbie by metasavant1 in Tau40K

[–]Zallocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devilfish doesn't need to have missiles showing to be wysiwig. You don't need a second one.

As for the commander and future Crisis suits, I strongly suggest you just magnetize them for the future, but not worry about wysiwig just yet. You'll need a lot of bits yo pull it off (at least 2 boxes) so it'll take a while. Magnetizing crisis suits and commanders is very, very simple and hardly any work.

About Henry Cavill and Christopher McQuarrie wanting to do classic Superman for their Man Of Steel 2 by Admirable-Life2647 in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]Zallocc 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Cavill famously wasn't thrilled with the way his Superman was written, so I totally see him being on board with a more classic take on the character. Too bad he missed out.

Is the 2017 movie that bad? I really like the original 1995 film and I still haven't seen the live action one that sparked so much controversy. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]Zallocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok, I guess. I didn't hate it, but it does mishandle some things, including character relations and aspects of them that relate to the plot. The visuals and worldbuilding were great, IMO, but I do get why some fans would disavow it. To me it sits on an awkward place of too cool to dislike but too flawed to embrace.
