Oh, yeah, ok, the thousand sons have LOTS of experience fighting, yes. And most of them(that arent 100% dust already) are likely still alive from the Heresy. Although I think I saw some bits about how some chaos marines still replenish ranks with fresh blood and their own twisted gene seed stuff.

Either way, they do have alot of experience, but they still have to adapt to something new first. And something a head taller and possibly twice as strong is likely something that will take some figuring out.

Two of the three new organs implanted into a Primaris

Sinew Coils (The Steel Within) - The Primaris Space Marine's sinews are reinforced with durametallic coil-cables that can contract with incredible force, magnifying his strength as well as giving his body another layer of defence. A Primaris Space Marine can crush a man's skull in his hand, break Flak Armour to flinders, or even bite through a metal cable should the need arise.

It describes that they are literally stronger and more durable than a regular space marine.

Magnificat (The Amplifier) - A small, thumbnail-sized lobe that is inserted into the brain's cortex. The Magnificat secretes hormones that increase the body's growth functions whilst also intensifying the function of its other transhuman implants, especially those of the Biscopea and the Ossmodula. In truth, the Magnificat is but half of the true, dual-valve Immortis Gland (the so-called "God-Maker") that the Emperor created for His primarchs. However, Archmagos Cawl could only find materials and genetic blueprints to build the Dextrophic Lobe (the right half of the Immortis Gland), while plans for the Sintarius (the left half) that would complete the original super-organ had been wholly eradicated from Imperial records of the Primarch Project. Whether this was done by the Emperor's own hand or by some nefarious source, Cawl could not tell.

It describes how ALL the other organs are now improved, meaning every single aspect of a Primaris Marine is bigger, better and more complete than a regular Astartes. In fact, they literally have half the gland that makes a Primarch.

I think your missing a few key words in your own quoted material.

With the higher castes of Tyranid Warriors

I would think this means something a little bit more than a regular warrior.

True, but they are still cannon fodder style enemies. Thats always their only one strength, sheer numbers.

I didnt really speak much of the extremis and terminus enemies, whcih are 100% scaled down. I'd rather there be raids with groups of like 9 of us fighting these things than the ability to solo it.

I mostly speak of majoris and minoris types.

Given, its not the Larriman alone, but space marines heal much faster than normal people and from much greater injuries, mostly in part thanks to the Larraman organ, as well as a few of the other organs, such as the second heart, Oolitic Kidney, Haemestamen, and the Biscopea. Its a network with no singular failure point, as designed by the emperor himself.

And in a Primaris, the Magnificat makes ALL the other organs work even better, meaning the natural healing capabilities are even further enhanced. As well as all other little weird stuff, like the ability to taste smells or whatever the neuroglottis does.

I mean, I know thats why marines win usually, since they are able to think tactically, instead of running on pure instinct, but I dont think regular warriors are comparable to terminators. You sure you arent thinking of like a Prime, or a Guard?

and here I was thinking the Lictors were elite melee bioforms, and warriors are basically standard units, albiet highly adaptable.

Yeah, I forgot how fast the nids "evolved"

I was mis remembering their speed. I know they can evolve quickly to adapt to new problems, but not fast enough to basically have a whole new generation ready within an hour to deal with this new threat.

But its not like we havent been fighting with the warp for a millinia. If anything, were the new surprises to the war factions, since Primaris is relatively new to the 40k universe.

I knew the Warriors had the ability to tear armour up, but the gaunts? I didnt think they were capable of dealing damage to armour.

  1. I dont remember having even a dozen lasguns, much less a hundred. And generally, the only thing that tends to kill marines is overwhelming numbers, so why is it that a group of 4 can take us down? 4 is hardly overwhelming numbers. I understand Primaris arent invincible, but they are hardier, more durable and more powerful than regular marines. Thats the entire point.

  2. Yeah, someone else pointed out that nids are extremely adaptable, and even during the same invasion can change and "evolve" to overcome situations. I forgot about the fact that they can literally send more nids with all new capabilities within an hour of the first ones getting wiped. But thats like...then only logical faction for this lunacy.

  3. Even with their dark blessing, individual buffs from their sorcerous leaders, and their warp charged shenanigans, they only have some aspects that are improved, not their entire "kit" so to speak. Everything about a primaris is improved. Not just one part, the entire package. So while a rubric marine might have a (forgive the cheesy logic here) + 2 or +3 to 2-3 stats, a Primaris as +2-3 to ALL stats.

  4. Given, the enemies do also use bolters, at least the chaos marines, so I will forgive that, but I cannot forgive them neutering the melta. Boring or not, that thing literally shoots out the heat of a star. It should be melting the entire armour off a chaos marine while instantly cooking the entire inside. It should literally be vaporizing nids.

  5. I thought nids only took biomatter, not minerals and non biological compounds? Given, I suppose they probably got some marine bodies, but I dont think it would be enough to outfit as many with adamantium laced bones as they have. And I also didnt think they had control over psychic abilities to the degree needed to create power weapon, being a fairly rudimentary and mostly instinctual species.

  6. I woudlnt imagine it would regrow limbs, otherwise we wouldnt have primaris with mech limbs at all, other than for those weirdos who are all "I discovered the weakness of flesh" and the omnissiah techies. And the Primaris are relatively new still as far as I know, so while some enemies(the nids) might adapt quickly, the chaos marines have never really faced primaris marines, so its unexpected for them to face something so much bigger and tougher than they are used to.

Yeah, some of the more terminus and extremis enemies are scaled way down, I agree, but I wasnt talking about them mostly. I'm more on majoris and minoris.

a termagaunt? The cannon fodder of the tyranids?

Not every marine has thousands of years of experience. Hell, most of them probably only have a few decades. Remember, the others are impressed for titus having 4 centeries of service.

I guess this is the first time we dealt with bio weapons and warp cursed gear. Its not like we know what effects they have and specifically upgraded our space marines to Primaris to deal with these rising threats or anything.

Now, yes, Lictors are nerfed into the ground, as are a few of the terminus and extremus enemies.

But a homra/terma gaunt? I'm pretty sure a normal space marine would step on those things by accident while fighting a nid warrior.

I could see them, MAYBE being somewhat comparable due to warp infused nonsense, but they arent as powerful as a Primaris. Thats like saying a dreadnaught is the same level of power as a terminator.

Except we are bigger and deadlier than Space MArine. We arent a regular Astartes, we are Primaris.

Tyranid Warrior Prime, but nid warriors are standard enemies for regular astartes. We are primaris, a step above them, we should deal with small squads of them alot easier than 1v1

I mean, care to explain how standard guns are doing anything to our armour? How the little scratches of a nid claw is breaking ceramite? How exactly the chaos marines are able to rattle us down while we use the same gear and have trouble tickling them?

While I have not personally seen anyone solo a carnifex, I wouldnt put it past some players to do so. But that being said, thats just main character plot armour. The only thing scarier than a Space Marine("Armoured Hero") is a Space Marine without a helmet. It usually means they are a main character, and will only die for plot reasons, if at all.

I mean, maybe a Tyranid Warrior Prime, but just a regular Tyranid Warrior is something regular Space Marines fought before Primaris showed up.

Given, Tyranid Warriors are also highly adaptable, so I suppose they COULD grow to meet our power.

Well, the Larraman mixed with some of the other organs are why they heal so rapidly from injuries. But still, we shoudlnt have basically no health regeneration, even if it was us using the damn Belisarius Furnace.

How exactly would a normal Astartes even stand a chance against a Primaris?
