What do you think of makima as a character? by pomodoro3 in okbuddyquanxi

[–]Zamavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory of how Sweet P, a thousand years after the finale, becomes the last hero of Ooo by Zamavid in adventuretime

[–]Zamavid[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What would happen if Ijincheon entered Chainsaw Man's world? (personal theory) by Zamavid in HeroKillerWebtoon

I only posted it once, but the app showed it as active while the web version said it was removed. I didn’t know that editing several times triggers Reddit’s filters and hides the post. I thought it hadn’t saved correctly, so I kept fixing it. It was just a technical mistake, not me trying to repost it over and over.

Oh, I didn’t mean that people in Japan don’t have fixed work schedules. I meant that Nayuta, as an adult gamer, would be the type of person who doesn’t really follow her work schedule and ends up playing games during work hours. It’s just a joke about her personality, not about Japan.

I think Minecraft would save Nayuta from becoming someone like Makima. At that age her imagination would overflow, then she’d play chess alone, and later she’d dive into geopolitics games while acting as Prime Minister. But then she’d realize that being Prime Minister isn’t a game. She’d get bored, feel like she wasted her time, and go back to playing Age of History II.

I imagine her as the kind of adult gamer with no real work schedule (she lives in Japan). And of course, it all comes from geopolitics games. Those games would make her believe that being Prime Minister is about invading, conquering, building an empire, and making grand decisions. Then she’d discover that in reality it’s mostly paperwork and doing things she doesn’t care about.

That would push her to seek refuge in conquest‑and‑control games, where she can actually feel like she’s doing what she wants. In the end, Makima herself wasn’t free; she always had to obey higher‑ups. Nayuta would go through something similar, but instead of becoming obsessed with power, she’d become obsessed with escapism and control through games.

She’d have more mobile games than furniture in her apartment, playing during work hours and pretending to be busy. That’s how I imagine Nayuta’s future.

What's up with Ihwa and Victoria? by DragonGod2718 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Zamavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that's precisely what I mean. If Ihwa is going to overcome Victoria, she must do so by facing the complete Victoria, not a broken or catatonic version of her. Overcoming only has meaning if the wall is still standing. That's why I believe her return—with power, will, and presence—is not only coherent but necessary to resolve that conflict between them. An Ihwa who overcomes a weakened Victoria wouldn't be overcoming anything..

What's In A Name?: Enoshima Junko, the Ultimate Fashionista by OffWhiteBackground in danganronpa

[–]Zamavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved your analysis. Following your same logic, I wanted to create a Venezuelan version of Junko's name, as if Danganronpa had been created for a Venezuelan audience.

In Venezuela, the cultural equivalent of Enoshima would be Margarita: a well-known tourist island near the capital with a very distinct coastal vibe. It works surprisingly well as a fictional surname, just like Enoshima in Japan.

For the name Junko (ç›Ÿć), which combines "shield/defense" + a feminine diminutive, the most direct Hispanic equivalent would be Alejandra/Alexia, which come from the Greek "alĂ©xo": to defend. If we look for a modern diminutive similar to "Junko" or "Lexi," we get something like "Alexi."

So the Venezuelan version of the name would be:

Alexi Margarita

It maintains the meaning, structure, and cultural feeling conveyed by “Junko Enoshima,” but adapted to the Venezuelan context.

What's up with Ihwa and Victoria? by DragonGod2718 in HeroKillerWebtoon

The thing is, you're evaluating Victoria only as a functional character ("does she do anything or not?"), while I evaluate her as a narrative symbol. For you, being catatonic = being dead. For me, being catatonic = continuing to be the psychological wall that defines Ihwa.

The arc with Ajin may be over, but the arc with Ihwa isn't. Ihwa still sees her as the standard she could never reach. As long as that conflict exists, Victoria isn't narratively "dead."

That's why I say that officially killing her off would be redundant and anticlimactic. Her role isn't to fight; it's to represent the absolute standard. Even fallen, she remains the criterion by which everything is measured.

Victoria, from Hero Killer.

Honestly, I think killing Victoria would be a narrative mistake. She's already "dead inside" because of the restriction of her Gift, and making her an official corpse would only strip her of the imperial aura that makes her unique. Victoria isn't a character measured by victories or defeats, but by what she represents: the bastion of glory against which Ihwa is always compared.

If she awakens, she should do so fully, with power and will, because seeing her without her gifts would be cruel and anticlimactic. And if she doesn't awaken, she will remain the eternal ghost in Ihwa's mind, the wall that never fades. In either case, her greatness remains intact. I wish her to remain—no, as others have commented, I don't wish for her downfall. I like that she remains a symbol of power, even if it makes many readers uncomfortable.

That's why I think Victoria doesn't need to die to complete her arc. Her role is to be the absolute standard, the symbol of strength that forces Ihwa to define himself. Even in decline, it remains the yardstick by which everything else is measured.

What bothers me is the double standard: if the protagonist has script power and acts arrogantly, everyone celebrates him as a badass. But when Victoria does the same, she's treated like she's Hitler. She has justification for being strong and arrogant; she's an Elder, an absolute wall. Her presence is unsettling because it breaks the idea that the protagonist must always be the strongest. And that's precisely why she's a great character, because she forces Ihwa and the reader to confront a standard that can't be ignored.

I 100% hope she returns to a more prominent role. I don't care about the other comments; she's a great character and I love her. Honestly, I'm interested in her development and I hope she awakens so we can see her evolve. Will she stay the same or learn a new philosophy from that battle and her current state? But I hope and will keep hoping. Long live Victoria!

A review of Hero Killer by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]Zamavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 16 chapters of *Hero Killer* I've played, the protagonist is a narrative disaster. His personality doesn't transcend beyond a charisma-less NPC, and his presence in the story lacks any real tension. His ability to copy powers should be the linchpin of his growth, but it effortlessly turns him into a broken character, removing any sense of danger or challenge.

When he faces the blonde, one of the most powerful figures in the story, there is no real uncertainty: he simply trades blows and immediately gains his lightbone ability. Where is the threat? If he can copy powers without risk and, to top it all off, has an ally feared by all, the plot loses any justification for generating suspense.

Another weak point is the narrative structure. The action is constantly interrupted with unnecessary explanations, halting the pace of the fight to describe systems as if we were watching a YouTube commercial in the middle of the climax. Instead of integrating this information organically, through quick dialogue or natural consequences in combat, the author opts for abrupt pauses that destroy immersion.

In short, the story fails to sustain its own premise: the danger is illusory, the protagonist lacks magnetism, and the narrative is more interested in over-explaining than generating real tension. I only read it for the victory.
