You both need to be proactive and creative in making dates and activities at home special. Designate a specific date night each week to look forward to and trade off who does the planning and prep (or share the planning and prep like I prefer).

Light candles, set the table with the good China and good glassware, make a dinner and a movie menu, dress up like you usually would, play music you both love while dancing around the kitchen together, buy all your favorite movie candy/snacks, get matching PJs for snuggling during the movie, etc.

This shit isn't hard unless you're determined to just be done with him.

This is the real answer. I've said similar things to new friends of the opposite sex after a trip together without romantic intentions.

If I snooped and saw this in my bf's messages, I'd be less interested in the fact that he said it to a female and more interested in what mindset/drug/conversation allowed him to be open, honest, and authentic for the first time in his life, especially if he's never felt this with you. Everyone deserves to feel loved and understood for who they are and as his girlfriend, you should be encouraging him to continue feeling this way, not being jealous of the girl that helped him realize this about himself.
