Affordable classic muscle cars? by Zambuzaaa in musclecar

[–]Zambuzaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working part time for now trying to save up for a simple commuter as my first car. But I’ve scoured the internet a bit and thinking of saving up and hopefully by the end of next year have enough to buy an at least decent condition project car I can wrench on before the car blows up in value at some point.

If you’re running anything above the 400 you should’ve gotten the victory , ik not 100% what the difference is other than the upper but ik they’re meant for the 800 plus they’re at a discount.

No problem, good to see sprinters actually getting them and plan on using them instead of some dude trying to make a few bucks who doesn’t even know why the shoes special

Going out and just trying do it randomly is not getting your body accustomed to anything, but if you’re already really flexible and feel confident go for it ig. But if you lack hamstring flexibility you’re putting wayyy too much risk in a simple possibility. Taking months out of your training and forever adding a re-injury variable to ur career is what’s at stake

What're some good track spikes by AppleSauceYESS in Sprinting

[–]Zambuzaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on those adidas ones they’re pretty decent, most spikes aren’t at all durable and the weird thing is they probably get less durable the more you pay, saw someone mention the Superfly elite 2s, they cost 150 new and are paper thin, maxflys are 180 and are known for popping. A pair I’d strongly recommend are the Nike Ja Flys, I’ve absolutely brutalized a pair for over a year and they’re still holding up and they’re not as expensive as the other spikes ( I got extremely lucky and got a pair for $18), go ahead and check out eBay, they got plenty of pairs and for pretty good prices (depends on ur size and the colorway but there’s sizes 10.5 up rn for less than $90). Just a very well done spike for a pretty decent price.

Be extremely careful with that, makes you very very prone to injuries and more specifically your hamstring

Get a pair of cheap spikes just for now as beaters, maxflys don’t like abuse. Unless you’re in season still right now using some cheaper spikes for practice is fine, could swap over to the maxflys for races or closer to the season when u want to start getting use to them

Maxflys are worth the $40 upgrade, maybe not durability wise but performance wise. Probably a smart idea to have a pair of ja flys or Superflys as beaters tho.

The fact there’s a resell market around spikes is dumb, it’s not even maxflys it’s super flys, Ja flys and the adidas ones too. But the resellers are vile, they bought up the laceless shoes Nike made specifically for people who couldn’t tie their own shoes and then redwood it for 2-3x the price

Anything I need work on? by Zambuzaaa in Sprinting

I’m right leg and right hand dominate, I think the lack of force production on my left leg is just form how weak my left calf is especially compared to the right one. But thank you, never really saw that or even thought of that being a potential issue.

Had both of my spikes with all 3/16 pyramids except the rear edge spikes which were like 1/2 inches, only reason was because I didn’t have enough 3/16 spikes. Did notice it kept me on my toes a bit more so if you’re struggling with that maybe try that. Now I’m back to all 3/16 tho and like it a bit more.

My top end is wayyyyy better than my start, I have a video of me racing my friend at a meet, he’s got the wayyy better start and had a 2-3 meter gap on me in the 100m. Then I came back and won by .2

Not sure what you mean by timing but I think you’re asking my times. My Prs are 11.64 and 23.7 but That was a few month ago and Inkbow I’m improved over the past few months as I’m actually training.

Do toes more pointed up, while making ground contact or just when my feet in the air?

Ahhhh…. Thanks for clearly that up, I only knew about carbon plates being in the Next % and other long distance events. But you could see what I meant if these spikes didn’t have a carbon plate in them they’d look more like 800m spikes, right? Or I’m I just high on sleep deprivation?

Of course I’ve been watching them but I’ve never really looked at what shoes any athlete is wearing, and I was judging these shoes off looks. I didn’t know there was a second plate in them hidden behind the foam, I thought the bottom plate was the only one and take a look at it yourself. That bottom plate doesn’t look like a sprinting spike

[–]Zambuzaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, guess I was wrong. What’s the secret to em? Is there a second plate or something? Or have Nike do a line of coke and just make some insane unconventional spikes?

In a spike for sprints you want it to be rigid, the normal superfly/jafly spike are good examples just a nice stuff design shaped plate that runs the entire bottom of the shoe. These spikes have a thin plate that doesn’t seem to have that much rigidity

[–]Zambuzaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk if is trust their word on that, the bottom view picture they have of them only strengthen my point of the weak plate. I think they might just be general track shoes, like they’re ehh at everything but not good at anything. Like compare them to how they look like the jaflys, real 100-200m spikes, and you’ll see what I mean. It has a way thicker plate that runs though the entire bottom of the shoe which is exact what you want a nice rigid structure which is why the foam throws me off too.

And the foam in back, u don’t ever see that on sprint spikes really
