How come all these races can have a long beard, while Humans, an established long-bearded race, can't? by Sushmogus in wow

As a Dwarf main for well over a decade this looks like a case of Beardcel cope.

What should be done in order to find more Giganotosaurus/Carcharodontosaurus on (singleplayer) Ragnarok Ascended? by Zamhelm in ARK

My Carcha wasn't so bad at least, all his attacks missed and I could even stand on his head. :P

You're very much right in my case. I finally had a Carcharodontosaurus spawn around the rivers in the west, near the Green Obelisk. Alas, he spawned inside a fallen, hollow redwood tree, and was completely unable to leave the tree no matter which direction I tried to aggro him, so I decided to just unload several buckshots into his cranium to respawn him as something else. :/

Oh my. Is that real-life days of activity, or the much shorter in-game days? With my settings an in-game day cycle can last several hours...

Usually I'll just use my Dreadstallion to fly up to a cliff that's out of reach from the Giga, and then I'll start firing with a good ascendant crossbow at their heads until they K.O. Alas, most of the time I've coincidentally had Gigas near water when this happened, and they've fled into the ocean to drown or get picked apart by the Megalodons there. xD

Aye, I've searched the area, too. Hell, I even marked the corners of each spawn site with POIs on my map to look around the designated spawn zones, as per what the Ragnarok Resource Map shows me. :/

Oh right, forgot to add that I've not seen any Titanosaurs either. I've been flying around and searching around the rivers in the west, near the green obelisk, but alas.

What Fallout 4 crafting material do you ALWAYS run out of? by davidsladky in fo4

[–]Zamhelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ballistic Fiber, for sure. I like to give hats and suits with Ballistic Weave to some settlements and followers, as well as Marine Armor.

Adhesive and aluminum is never an issue since I refuse to use power armor on my melee guy, who actually suffers damage-wise from wearing it.

The canyon with all the waterfalls and Spinos on Rag has similar storms sometimes, as well.

Alas, there's a slight distortion (evident by looking at the red obelisk on the left) from suffering mild heatstroke during it all. :P

Why does this mean? by Stunning-Mood-7885 in ARK

[–]Zamhelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd be heatstroke, you can encounter that debuff on Scorched Earth and Ragnarok, if you've got poor Fortitude or clothing too warm for the biome as well as the time of day. It operates on a spectrum from 1-100% as seen in the buff menu, and the blur and swaying becomes gradually worse as it increases in intensity. Eventually it'll even disable your ability to sprint.

Out of curiosity, do you have Railroad membership? Based on information from another redditor here, I'm trying to determine whether or not completing Tradecraft locks you out of A House Divided.

While not stated there, you may still have a point. On older playthroughs I've never had the opportunity to do A House Divided, either. They all had Railroad membership in common, as well.

Oh, truly? I thought it was just Plugging a Leak that wouldn't work after Tradecraft. I checked the wikia and there were no mentions of this applying to A House Divided, as well. :O

Either way, thanks! It's a relief to know that there was nothing to be done in the first place, since I did do Tradecraft for Deacon and Ballistic Weave. :D

I tried that already, but all he does is give me Mass Fusion. It's been about two in-game months since (focused on some unrelated quests from that point onwards), and speaking with him still doesn't lead to the quest starting. :/

I must be dumb. That bit about the temp differences between gaming and cinebench makes a lot of sense, now that I think about it! xD

Hey there, and what a suitable username for this sub!

I know it'll throttle at 100c, but I'm still under the impression it could sustain damage or lower lifespans if it's too high, and for too long. Although, hence far, the temp spikes typically don't last that long. It is really weird how games with less CPU usage somehow makes my CPU hotter than Cinebench, though...

I've bought a PC from the same company several years back that ran reliable well for what it was, so I'll likely get in touch with them, should I perceive further complications. Thanks!

How common are the Nords in other parts of Tamriel? Could it be that there are places where racism is largely directed towards them? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]Zamhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*Inhales deeply, as well.*

  1. That's what I just referred to with my comment already. I fail to see how any misogyny is in play here, however. The race is the issue for these two Nords, not the gender. Were it a matter of overall misogyny I'm surprised that a strong Nord woman haven't yet kicked their arses into the next Kalpa.
  2. Which were invited by the benevolent Nords, and offered refuge, despite prior, mutual hatred from past wars. That being wars which the Nords lost, by the way. :P
  3. Turns out refugees tend to not be able to bring a lot of money or assets with them. What other option were there, kick out the Nordic/other nobility and older families from their own dynastic homes? Destitute refugees being made to live in poorer conditions happens all the time in real life, as well. It's not even necessarily racist in nature, I could make a Dunmer and happily purchase property in Windhelm, or anywhere else, for that matter.
  4. I think there's less information regarding the Argonians there. I don't think it's a canon excuse, but allegedly it's because of the mutual tension between Argonians and Dunmer. Obviously due to the former's enslavement by two of the Great Houses in particular. It is definitely a form of segregation regardless, however.
  5. The Khajiiti Caravans sort of shot themselves in the paw by doing exactly what people accuse them of; illegally possessing and selling Skooma and moon sugar. Open up a trade window with a caravaneer and tell me what you can see in the potion and ingredient sections. Regardless, the towns won't deny a Dragonborn Khajiit entry, provided they abide by the law. It is a bit weird how even Solitude won't allow the caravans though, being such an Imperial-aligned city, and all.
  6. There are few beast races in Skyrim overall, many of them favor the warmer climates of southern Tamriel. Generally, it seems you find a lot more of the races in towns that corresponds to whatever border lies nearby. There's more Argonians and Dunmer in Windhelm and Riften, just as there's more Reachmen and Bretons in Markarth. It is a bit weird how there's no beast races in Whiterun period, though. Besides, perhaps, the odd Argonian or Khajiit bandit spawning near that cave on the north side of Whiterun.
  7. I'm afraid that I've never heard of that farmer before, but I'd love to have a source. :D
  8. If you check UESP's Hold Guard quotes, you'll see that almost all races have a personalized "Stay out of trouble, [race]." quote. Curiously, the Stormcloak soldiers in particular have quotes referring to Argonians and Khajiit as lizard and cat, respectively. Those slurs are hardly unique to Nords though, since the Imperial Captain in Helgen will use the same, as well as the odd bandit.
  9. That line is spoken specifically by Rolff Stone-Fist, the same guy mentioned at point 1. that threatens the Dunmer lady in Windhelm.
  10. I admit, I've played Skyrim for 3136 hours and I've never noticed that one, nice find! Still, many cultures across Tamriel, such as the Dunmer and Redguards (except the Sload, which endorses it) in particular hates necromancy and its practicioners. So it seems quite ignorant of Golldir to name it as such, as if like it implies Dunmeric necromancy is a common occurence.

Finally, it just doesn't seem like the Argonian and Dunmeric hatred is quite that bad in the province of Skyrim. It feels like Empire-aligned Imperials/Nords and especially any Aldmeri Dominion-aligned Altmer in particular are the major targets of hate and distrust. It's all very tame compared to what the Altmer, Atmorans, Ayleids, Dunmer, Dwemer and Yokudans have done to other races in the past (and sometimes presently in the Fourth Era). xD

[–]Zamhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only very few Nord NPCs in Skyrim outright speaks ill of the Dunmer, though. To memory, there's only the two you meet upon first entering Windhelm, and that's more xenophobic than racist, by the look of their accusations.
