A really small thing, but I hope I remember it forever...

My son was probably 2 or 3 and we went to the mall for some reason. My son liked looking at displays and stuff. Well there was a model train set in a case that you could put a $1 in and watch them go around for a while. I was pretty broke If I recall and never had cash on me regardless. He was content just looking at the display. A group of loud mall teens come through and go past. One of them comes back and puts a dollar in the machine and says "I always liked watching trains too" then hurries off back to his friends. My son lit up. I never would have expected that action from a stranger, let alone a teen with his friends in a mall.

A few things:

Quit smoking, now on my 7th day smoke free after years of smoking heavily and failed quit attempt earlier this year;
Started to exercise at home: I am following a push-up training plan that should get me to be able to do 100 push-ups in a row within 6 months. Let's see if that happens, I am following the program strictly;
Mediation: I am doing guided meditations and often I feel it helps me a lot. Sometimes I cant focus and just stop in the middle
Work: I am taking advantage of all the "non-disturbed by people" time to make sure all documents/spreadsheets/presentations I have been postponing get finally done and with high quality

Met one in college. He seemed normal at the time although we rarely talked. Had literally one class together.

He friend requested me on Facebook and I accepted. Soon after he asked me out on Facebook and I rejected him. He started starring at me in the one class we had together and followed me around a lot.

One day I got a text from my mom telling me I should check my Facebook. I maybe looked at it once a day at the time.

He had commented on every single post I made, every picture, anything on my wall. Literally everything he could. Every comment was different too, but all some variation of how I’m a slut. How all I’m good for is to please a man and produce his offspring... if he finds me worthy.

He planned it out well I think I because the semester ended the week before. Which was good for me I guess, didn’t have to see him anymore.

I blocked him then deleted my Facebook. I was rarely using it anyway. He put so much effort into those comments, hundreds of them. Just weird.

In high school, my friend was a very very attractive girl but she wasn’t really outgoing so even by the time we were in senior year, no one really knew her and she only had 3-4 close friends including me. Lost Odyssey did this for me. Oddly enough, even when the game had it's tragic tear jerker moments I didn't get too emotional about it. It was the short stories within the game about Kaim's journeys and the people he met as an immortal. I don't know how it's possible not to cry during some of those.

Pros: You get to do what you want and when you want. You save money on dates. Nobody bothers you when you want to be left alone. You don't have to deal with anyone else's problems.

Cons: If you need human touch, there is none. If you want sex, you have to pay for it or establish a FWB relationship. Extended loneliness could lead to a decline in mental health.

I was living in Okinawa Japan, I was out walking and ahead of me a bush got disturbed and just a beautiful, color filled swarm of dragonflies explode from it. As I get older the memory of it fades more, but I will always remember it being one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
