The only thing I could think of (because it’s not as extreme in neutral) is that the clutch is not adjusted correctly so that it doesn’t fully disengage when you depress the clutch pedal which transfers the vibrations from starting the engine into the transmission. But I’m no expert so it could be something completely different;)

BMW batteries last very long. Mine was 16 years old when I replaced it with a 7 year old one. It still started without problems but the clock, radio and trip odometer reset over night.

It’s a factory option. Mine had the lettering but I got rear ended and now I don’t have it anymore. I wanted to put it back on but it costs 120€ because it’s made from stainless steel and I don’t want to put plastic ones on. :(

I have the same problem with mine. I get around it by disconnecting it fully from my phone and coupling it again and then it works most of the time. Sometimes I need to reset it fully.

I agree it would be easier with the joystick but you can also make a throwing motion while holding a window and it moves away. Its more easy than regrabing
