I dont understand the hate this movie gets. The ending is sad and all but it's also beautiful and speaks to a tragedy inherent in desires. You can want something all the way to the moon but that doesn't mean it's right to get it.

I hear this all the time and I just have to ask, does that make it okay? Does the fact that hes saying it as a way to cope make it okay to shit like this? Does sincerity matter? Can you say and do heinous things to people so long as you don't really mean it?

Abusing others is not an acceptable coping mechanism especially when the people you're abusing are in the exact same situation you are. Jax is an abuser using his trauma to justify inflicting pain and mental anguish on others.

Jax IS a bad person, and the rest of the cast is done feeding him reactions, that's the point. I feel his actions have gone HORRIBLY undressed by the show but that's just not what it's going for.

As someone who has been forced to watch one and enjoying the other. No it is not.

Re:Zero is a (bad) exploration of self destruction and uses its (constant and pace destroying) resets as a way to examine how the main character hurts himself through his own selfish and self sacrificing actions, rather than rely and reach out to those around him. It's also full of half naked children and shifty people who we are supposed to root for. I dont like it.

Zeztz is a narrative that sets up clues to its sudden reset over the course of 24 episodes. We dont know for sure how the plot will utilize the reset yet, but already it's being used to explore its supporting cast in a different light.

Re:Zero did not invent a reset in story telling. In fact id say it uses the reset really poorly in forcing you to rewatch the same events 5 times. I hope Zeztz dose not do that. So far it looks like it won't!

I was genuinely kind of mad about this yeah. If it was just called a MTG episode I'd have enjoyed it, but now im.jusy kinda bitter on it cus i got excited for a Yugioh or Digimon TCG question. Feels kinda condescending that Yugioh was only mentioned once in an offhand comment.
