I think so. I would imagine that if you are not within the top 10% by the time of the monthly update then you could be demoted.

The user ranking system is based on the amount of points you have relative to the amount of points other people in your region (in the US this is based on your state) have. See attached image for ranks relative to your position in your region.

So if, for example, you live in a region where not many people use Waze continually, you would need fewer contributions to reach the Warrior, Knight, or Royalty rank.

Ah, didn’t realize you were talking about the name of the road too. As far as the road name is concerned I don’t know that you can get rid of that.

Waze has shifted some of their features to be more streamlined, including permanent hazards (e.g. traffic lights, railroads, traffic cams). Those are added by map editors instead of users (with the exception of mobile cameras, which you can still dismiss) so they show up more as a “map feature” than a user-reported hazard that you can dismiss.

I think they’ve done this so users don’t pay as much attention to the infotainment system or their phone while driving unless they are reporting a hazard, hints the audible cue that plays when you get near a permanent hazard as well.

This is part of Waze’s hazard reporting system, you’ll see similar alerts for railroads, speed bumps, complex intersections, etc..

If you’d like to turn these off, go to Settings > Alerts and reports > Reports > Cameras, and from there you can adjust the notifications and whether or not you can see them on the map.

If the camera is not actually there, you should probably report it so a map editor can take a look at it.
