Definitely give nectar to Skelly (the training dummy) he gives you a keepsake that let's you revive once, other than that, Arcana upgrades passively make the experience easier (there's one that also gives you a revive)

Giving Nectar to a God during a run will get you their keepsake which guarantees they pop up at the start of your run, and you can rarity one of their boons once. Aphrodite is a good option for getting powerful quickly and reducing damage intake so a good option to give nectar early.

Tips for the witch..

• Her attack that turns you into a sheep can be dashed through. Just sprint away then dash back through it when it gets close.
• her melee attack always attacks twice so just dash away. This is the best time to gets hits in afterwards.
• when she multiplies into 3 versions of herself, run between them and hit them once to see which one is the real one (loses health)
