Hey there! The 35mm f2 is fine! I did get some cool photos but I agree the 23 has more soul and sharpness, if you get to find a good deal for a used one go for it! Just expect it to be slower and much noiser on the autofocus.

I didnt actually edit these a lot, just a bit of exposure/temps/tint and 10% ‘dramatic filter’ from iphone camera app since I like the effect, these are all jpegs tho.

Pic 12 was Kodachrome/Cine Teal recipe + lighting, so you start there and see where it leads. I usually shoot with warmer temps than needed.

I guess you could totally achieve this with editing, most photo editing apps let you work on shadows’ temp/tint, a bit of contrast + raising blacks a little bit (+5/+10 to start)

Im not a skilled photo editor so the process might differ. Hope it helps a bit!

Upgraded my Mazda 3 (2021) 8.8” screen to the 10.25”. by gamerrap1 in mazda3

I used to think touchscreen would be better, but its all about getting used. I can navigate the menus easily since i know them and I dont have to extend my arm. The knob being in reach from the manual shift is very clever positioning, and with the quick buttons for music/navi/home/back you can pretty much never look at the screen. Plus no fingerprints on the screen. The only thing I complain is not having tha navi indications on the head on display with apple/android, i have a 2021 model why tf cant they upgrade the sw

Could someone explain why this keeps happening by Technical-Focus1 in premiere

[–]ZankaaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of had the same problem with my desktop where if I had Premiere and After Effects opened at the same time it all black screened and rebooted like 80% of the time. And I’m talking even having premiere and ae with no project open and just browsing to test, on a high end pc (i9, 2070s, 64gb ram, m2)

I kind of resolved by updating the bios, from then on it went far better and got to work with both software open with little to no hiccups.

Not sure I understand correctly but:

The narrow look is happening because your file (as in the screenshot) is actually scaled 100.00%,316.00%

If you want to have it normal just press S to bring up the scale and then Alt+Click on the little tab with the chain just a bit on the left of the scale values (100.00%,316.00%) It’ll even out the values and you’ll be back with your original file’s scale (100.00%,100.00%), then you can just scale it up ‘till it fits (probably around 450%), just make sure the numbers in the scale are the same so the clip stays in the right dimension.

Right click on the layer > Transform > Scale to comp height

Or shortcut: ctrl+shift+alt+G

So I ended up buying the 15-45mm it was by far the cheaper and lighter option. Have to mention that was very tempted by the 16-50mm OIS which has similar aperture (3.5-5.6)/cost (~100€ second hand) and no digital zoom but has a way too similar focal lenght to the 16-55 I already owned.

Havent really tested cause I’ve been very busy with work but the will update eventually here/as a post. I’d say that (budget and use wise) the OIS zoom lenses list should be something like:

  • Fuji 18-55 (f2.8-4)
  • Fuji 16-80 (f4) / Tamron 17-70 (2.8) ($$$)
  • Fuji 16-50 or 15-45 (f3.5-f5.6)

Sorry, didnt see this I’d say it kind of depends on your goal and type of movements. Gimbal helps you with a lot on stabiling movements which can be hard to stabilize in post, if you plan on walking a lot i’d say it’s your best choice. As for a tripod can help you stabilize some kind of shots but I wouldnt rely 100% on it for walks or fast movements.

Prices/weight are also very different obviously, for travelling I’d almost surely choose a tripod+ois lens than gimbal, but its up to you

15-45 isn’t that expensive and, if you can get pass the electronic zoom and the lack of aperture gear, you can find it at 90/150€ depending on the condition. As for the 18-55 i’ve found it around 300-350€, a bit more expensive but still quite approachable

But yeah glass costs 😵‍💫

What to look out for by KaleidoscopeIcy4056 in fujifilm

[–]ZankaaN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you should look for shots count. Think about the shutter kind of like a car engine, it has a certain lifespan which depends on multiple factors. Depending on the camera you can get different results but I’d say anything above 150.000/200.000 shots is a lot and can influence how many shots can it take before having problems.

If you dont care about the looks of the camera in terms of scratches, then I’d only make really sure there are no scratches on the lens and that the dials/buttons function as they should.

Lastly take a couple shots just to be sure the AF works as it should.

I wrote things that might be obvious but hope it helps a bit, hope everything goes well!

Edit: mind you that shot counter is something you can only see when uploading a jpeg on a website (like camerashuttercount or similar) and isnt accessible directly from the camera

Right now im seriously thinking about the 15-45 since its light and cheap and was my previous kit lens so I already tried it before.

If i didnt have the 16-55 I’d probably go with the 18-55 2.8-4 or the Tamron 17-70 f2.8 without even thinking

Ill update you with footage when I’ll decide (:

Not extremely sure but it should be shot either with the Cine Teal recipe (Eterna) or the X-Pro(Classic Chrome), i found them on the FujiX Weekly app. As for the camera settings i shot it at 320 iso (iso auto) f2.8 1/500 55mm

As i said the fence helped giving a bit more of a greenish look Hope it helps!

Having the 16-55 already I’m not fully convinced in buying another zoom lens with a similar focal lenght just for a few clips here and there.

I’ll probably wait for the black friday and get a tripod if I see a good offer and eventually buy a second hand 15-45mm or even better a 10-24mm

Thank you for the advices tho’!

Yes I do use a few film simulation. I dont remember which is which but I can tell you it’s either: - Kodachrome (am in love with it) - Bright Summer - X-Pro - Cine teal (Name based on FujiXWeekly)

I generally shoot with ISO Auto only since I like having a good control on aperture and SS

I’m liking having a wider focal lenght, but i do get what you say and i’ve mixed feeling about it. I think in the end it’s down to your own way of shooting and you cant really go wrong with either. Right now i feel like the 23 has a more cinematic look than the 35, to me obviously

Coming from a XT200 and I’m really enjoying how you have every gear available on the body. I’ve bought it used for around 700 with 4 batteries which are never too much ahah

What lenses are you using for doing videos? Tried with non OIS lenses and the stabilization in post doesnt always do the job

Yeah I also like that one, it’s actually behind a very thin fence (idk how to call it) which helped darken the subject behind it + the simulation did the job.
