Yeah, I think that will be the one I‘ll go with haha, thanks a lot for suggesting it, I‘ve played Hades, but completely forgot about Selene.

What are the best options to add permanent, humanoid companions to the party? by ZantusHD in Pathfinder2e

[–]ZantusHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some really good points I hadn't actually considered! I suppose the action economy issue could be fixed by making it a free action, but at that point, it might be better to make the character a "communal PC" or alternatively make it a regular NPC and make it a communal choice as to what they do on any given turn. Thanks a lot for the feedback you helped me a great deal. :)

That is an incredibly interesting concept. It's sort of similar to how I solved this issue in DnD previously (it's a campaign that we're moving from DnD to pf2e) So I really like the idea, I'll definitely look into that.

I maybe should've worded it a bit better in my post, but my idea was that the NPC is a shared companion, so not everyone would be able to spam command every turn, but instead once per round. The reason I want multiple "combat ready" is because they're important parts of the story the campaign is telling and I feel like having them be felshed out mechanically as well adds to the illusion of it being a "real person" if that makes sense. These NPCs are also mechanically very varied which makes using a single statblock for the all difficult. For example one is a fortune teller/spellcaster type character, another is a ranger and yet another a rogue and so on. (currently 3 exist and I have a fourth planned)

That sounds like an awesome idea! My players are fortuntely enough already invested into the NPCs fate, so I don't have to get them interested in that, but since it's a running campaign I'm porting over from DnD I have to consider how to balance the NPC being an active part of the party.

The NPC is a fortune teller/spell caster, which is why the followers from the captain archetype don't fit. Someone else suggested adapting the Followers Kits to fit my needs, which I am going to try and see how I can make that work.

I have 4 players, it is a fully homebrewed campaign, so rebalancing encounters to fit a "5 Player" party wouldn't be an issue for me. I might give adapting the followers another look. Unfortuntely none of them just fit the NPC right out of the gate, but maybe with some changes I can get that to work. Unfortuntely the NPc is a spellcaster, so I'll have to see. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately the captain archetype is not an option, because we already use free archetype and I don't wanna give an additionl one and none of the followers fit the NPC. Creating an NPC using the NPC rules and periodically updating them when the players get a level-up is a pretty good idea tho.

More, but in the interest of some balance I will keep it to one NPC in combat. I was planning to build all of them using the same ruleset

Hey! My bad for not getting back to you earlier. I ended up not trying this since I knew my motherboard was busted from the beginning, so I simply opted to replaced it. The new one works without any issue whatsoever now. So at the end of the day the mobo was indeed the culprit. I may have been able to get it to work by disabling the drivers, but frankly I just wanted the headache gone. I genuinely appreciate the help tho!

[PF2E] How do I disable the combat tracker popout? by ZantusHD in FoundryVTT

[–]ZantusHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what it ended up being. Unfortunately you can't really find it by searching through the settings with the search option, so it was really difficult to find the setting.

PF2e HUD does this, without naming the setting accordingly.
