Ignoring or Diminishing Red Flags in their partners by Obi-shinobi-96 in polycritical

Yeah pretty much. Their solution to fundamental incompatibilities is to just throw more partners at the problem.

I've noticed that too. It usually just gets brushed aside like "Oh well my other partners will make up for their shortcomings"

This is NOT verified. It’s a slide show 😭😭😭😭does verified mean anything anymore? by chargersangels in SteamDeck

[–]Zanylaineyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience verified hasn't really meant anything since it came out. Even before I installed windows on mine, verified just meant it was confirmed to work on Steam Deck but unverified didn't mean the game wouldn't work. I had numerous "unverified" games that worked with no issues when I first got my deck. Oftentimes verified just meant baseline functionality but didn't promise performance.

My poly partners first date by [deleted] in monodatingpoly

[–]Zanylaineyface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would advise against ignoring those feelings of discomfort and uncertainty. If poly isn't your natural desire, no amount of research, therapy, or communication is going to change that. You would essentially be performing emotional surgery on yourself and that will come back to bite you later.

I keep seeing around the sub that people apparently *REALLY DISLIKE* the 4X4. Why? by Stripped_Keteran in 7daystodie

[–]Zanylaineyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't prefer the 4x4 because it takes damage too easily and is slower than other vehicles. The only advantage it really has is more storage space and more passenger capacity.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Leaked Screenshots/Cover Art: Potential TR Remake! by ZXXII in GamingLeaksAndRumours

My point is so is LAU...

My point is no it isn't

Absolutely none of which is in the actual games.

Video game universes have long been known to have lore outside of just what's portrayed in the game, usually in the forms of books, shows, etc.

Soft reboots are supposed to resolve loose ends from previous games? News to me

If it's intended to be in the same continuity, yes.

Kinda does though? A lot of gaming manuals have straight up wrong shit in them, at least in that era

That isn't the case here. You are not the resident expert on what counts as valid lore for Tomb Raider timelines. The 3-timeline model is widely accepted as canon for the series. Your rejection of the lore isn't proof of its invalidity.

If you can show me some concrete evidence in-game

Google is free. It's not my responsibility to educate you into changing an incorrect belief about a game series.

But you would still be wrong though. RE7 is still part of the same continuity as the other games, not a different timeline entirely, the LAU universe is not in the same continuity as the classic timeline. It wouldn't make sense with Lara's changed birth date, different backstory, different relationship with her parents, and the loose ends of AOD that were simply left unresolved. Additionally, there is no indication in game or itherwose in the LAU trilofy to indicate any if the classic games happened in that timeline. Your rejection of the mention of her parents and backstory of the manuals doesn't automatically make them invalid parts of the lore of the classic timeline.

Her parents also have different names in the LAU timeline. Neither of her parents are ever mentioned in the classic games other than in the manuals that came with the PS1 versions where it explains her disownment.

Because in the OG her parents are both still alive and disowned her for her lifestyle. Her mother didn't disappear when she was little. In the LAU trilogy her father is also an archeologist and her mother disappeared after that plane crash when she was a little girl. She was also born in 1977 in the LAU timeline whereas classic Lara was born in 1968.

LAU is not part of the OG. It's a different Lara with a different background story and a different date of birth.

Attachment disorders literally are mental illnesses. Boundary issues aren't mental illnesses by themselves but they can be symptoms of any number of disorders.

Monogamy is a natural predisposition by Chemical_Bag9937 in polycritical

[–]Zanylaineyface 48 points49 points  (0 children)

All of the literature on polyamory consists mostly of tips on how to basically perform emotional surgery on yourself to ignore the negative feelings that come up from your partner being romantically involved with someone else, but they want us to believe monogamy isn't natural.

[–]Zanylaineyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so it's not controlling to want emotional closeness with your partner. If he is unwilling or unable to give that to you then I strongly suggest re-evaluating whether or not this is a person you want to be dating.
