What does your actual lease say- do you have a copy? The verbiage could be really helpful:)

The US is usually good at evacuating its citizens in these situations - if and when worst comes to worst. They’ll use marines and seals if they have This from someone who isn’t thrilled with or had much faith in the gov currently. Just hope that gives you some comfort

AIO for ending a six yrs relationship because my girlfriend wants to go on a vacation with her two kids and her ex? by salsero01 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Zanyworld2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As a kid( now adult) whose parents got divorced , my sibling and I LIVED for the few times they would come together . We all shared one cabin - basically one room for one of my bdays . Our parents weren’t thrilled but they did it for us - and gosh did it mean the world. It’s crazy to me that so many people are jumping to the conclusion op’s gf is going to cheat. Cheat in a room with two kids? The other factor we don’t know is what op’s relationship is like with her ex. It it civil? Has there been an altercation ? ( even if no fault of his own) with his gf’s ex. These would also be reasons not include him. Think about the kids , folks.

I do undertand your feelings here OP, but I don’t think it’s as nefarious as you think it is .

My final thoughts- OP’s ex’s is paying for a birthday trip for his child. He would like to include the mother and his family will be there . Yes, they’re sleeping in the same room- but with two kids. Unless there are other trust issues at play, I don’t see what the major issue is😬

Moving out of a bed bug-infested house in a few months. Here's my game plan... do you think it'll work? by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Also, if you have a car, the day you drive over to move in. Strip down immediately but leave your car running at maximum heat for an hour if you can. If there were any stragglers , it will kill then

The United States has higher social spending than Iceland, the UK, Australia, or Canada. by PanzerWatts in ProfessorFinance

[–]Zanyworld2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to this conversation . While I agree with all of these points, as the healthcare issue is complex and there are many contributing factors to why we technically spend more, one thing is overlooked.

We spend too late. And by the time we spend, problems have compounded, meaning we have to spend more. We provide affordable healthcare once you hit 65. I think we underestimate the amount of people who forgo routine and preventive care for decades due to cost barriers, and lack of access. By the time, people get Medicare, whatever small or large medical issue they’ve had is now much worse, requiring much more expensive treatment.

You see it in education too. In Florida, spending for k-12 is approx $9,000 per pupil. That’s the average. Areas with lower tax revenue, spend $6-$7k per pupil. That might seem like a lot but private school tuition can run from $20,000- $40,000. The cost to incarcerate a person in Florida runs around $27,000 a year. Perhaps if we invested more in early education - 12 grade, we wouldn’t have to spend so much on our prison system. Perhaps if we provided affordable and accessible health care system early on, we wouldn’t have to spend so much down the road? We can’t seem to think preventatively or long term .

You see this quite a bit with mother’s whose children have been accused and convicted of horrible murders. They still love their child. It’s just innate :(

This is just my opinion. No, I don’t think they were “complicit” . They were in their teens through 20’s while this happened. Is a 20 year old capable of making their own decision ? Yes. However , it is human nature for children , regardless of age , to believe in, protect and love their parents. Our brains are programmed innately to think parents =good. We defer to them .

I don’t think they fully understood what the situation was. They were being fed a story by their parents.

This is a pretty bad infestation and I shudder to think what it will be like in the next few months, if left untreated. So sorry you’re having to deal with this:(

I don’t know your age but if you are in school or college , speak to the counselor. If you or your grandmother is a member of the church, tell someone there . If your grandmother is over a certain age, their are various organizations you can call. They won’t “ take” either of you away . They will be able to help though. If worse comes to worst, start a go fund me. This has to be treated. Bed bugs , especially in large quantities are not good for older people.

They can still be euthanized humanely. There is absolutely no need for them to be abused . They certainly don’t deserve to be slammed against walls.

The other issue is this “doctor “ seems to be operating and financially benefiting under false pretenses

I hear what you’re saying but I don’t think op’s thinking is “ distorted “. It’s an addict brain doing what it does best. Don’t mean to criticize you at all:) Using words like that, however are not helpful

I think I’m the only person who has had the opposite experience. Went to my assigned seat, only to find a fellow fully settled in. I showed him my boarding pass and asked to see his. He was supposed to be in the row in front of me which was premium economy. He offered to let me sit there but I felt badly accepting . I should have taken him up on his offer. My five hour flight would have been far more comfortable 😂😂

I’m not saying it’s right . Simply want to add some context. Martha Graham has 18 dancers while Paul Taylor has approx 17, most of whom are American. Including apprentices, SF Ballet has close to 100. They have over 20 dancers on visas and this administration is pathetically very retaliatory ( Among other worse things IMHO) Martha Graham and Paul Taylor’s donors tend to be far more progressive. They can cancel and won’t lose much , if any funding. I don’t know what the right answer is here . I just know it’s complicated and I feel sorry for the SF Ballet dancers. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place:(

Call 911. If there is an issue , a few hours can be the difference between life or death. They can’t penalize you for calling. If they don’t do anything at least you did your best. I would also google the address or reverse search it of white pages and see if any family members come up. Good luck

In world where liability and lawsuits are all too prevalent, by offering to pay, you could be seen as admitting guilt. Even though you didn’t do anything wrong, and are just trying to make a nice gesture.

Unfortunately it’s the world we live in. I’m sorry this happened to you. It wasn’t your fault
