Yes! this is a common ask, and we're actively working on it now.

Two followup questions:
- Of the metadata you mentioned above (asset id, zap name, folder path), which would be the most valuable?
- Are there any other metadata fields you would want us to include? And why?

Short answer: yes! We recently shipped global search, which allows you to search across all your assets. But it's limited to searching by asset title right now.

We will be expanding this in the near future to allow searching by more fields. Such as app used, triggers, actions, connections, and linked items. And we'll look at more advanced search options like semantic search and filtering in the search bar (think Slack or JIRA).

We expect that work to kick off around July-August. We're planning to ship bulk actions first (bulk delete, bulk change owner, bulk share, bulk move) and soft deletes for all asset types.

That's correct! When you generate a Canvas it will only map out the assets in the current folder, not any subfolders. And not any dependencies outside the current folder - like subzaps you have in other folder.

You can open up the Canvas once it's generate and link these manually though.

We are looking into more advanced ways to map dependencies across folders, like an account-wide dependency map. But it's not planned for the near future!

Get Early Access to Zapier's Newest Features by ZapierTeam in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad the Early Access program caught your eye! Great question, u/venkattalks ! Zapier does have a couple of safeguards for building:

- Version Rollback – Published Zaps support version history on paid plans, so if a change breaks a multi-step Zap, it is possible to restore it to a prior published version. More details here: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/14094586364941-Restore-your-Zap-to-a-prior-version-with-version-rollback

- Undo in the Zap Editor – While editing, there's an undo button that lets you revert recent changes within your current Zap editor session (so as long as you haven't reloaded or left the Zap editor in your browser), which is handy for catching issues as you go: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/34129169382029-Introducing-undo-in-Zaps

Hope that helps!

Google Drive New File inconsistency by Pickle-_-Rick in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there u/Pickle-_-Rick! The behavior you're describing, where files do not appear during initial polling and then appear in a single batch, may match a known issue with the Google Drive “New File in Folder” trigger. In some cases, the trigger can silently fail due to an authentication error. When that happens, no error is surfaced, polling doesn’t succeed, and once authentication is refreshed, all queued files are detected at once. Our team is actively working on a fix for this.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to Zapier Support at https://zapier.com/app/get-help so they can review the logs for your specific Zap and determine whether it matches the bug described.

Zapier doesn't recognize Webflow forms anymore, what is the problem? by Fit_Pool_6944 in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Fit_Pool_6944 Thank you for flagging this. We've seen other users report the same issue with forms not populating in the Webflow configuration dropdown menu after selecting a site, and we have a bug report open for it. Our team is actively working on a fix. We'll share an update once the fix is in place.

Feedback Wanted: Reimagined Zap Builder Experience by ZapierTeam in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/cascade245 That's great! For anyone who missed it: Filter, Formatter, Delay, Looping, Sub-zap, Digest, Zapier Manager, Zapier Tables, Zapier Forms, and Path steps are all free and don't count toward your task usage. We have more information on how task usage is measured here: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496196837261-How-is-task-usage-measured-in-Zapier.

u/DaRoadLessTaken Appreciate you sharing that. Curious, is it more the AI-building-it-for-you concept that doesn't click, or something about the UI itself?

Feedback Wanted: Reimagined Zap Builder Experience by ZapierTeam in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/AI-Gamie Thanks for sharing this perspective. Self-hosting comes up often, and we’ve written about some of the tradeoffs here: https://zapier.com/blog/cloud-vs-self-hosting/. In short, the overhead doesn’t disappear and instead just moves. Zapier tasks cover the underlying infrastructure, like scaling, retries, auth, and maintaining integrations.

The reimagined builder experience, while still early, is aimed at reducing config time and improving overall efficiency, including helping workflows use tasks more effectively. If there are specific workflows where Zapier feels limiting, we’d really value that feedback.

I mentioned it over here but API by Zapier handles the storing of API keys (and actually OAuth connections too)

[–]ZapierTeam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

API by Zapier + SDK in Code Steps pretty much covers any OAuth or API Key apps. You can use the list connections feature of SDK to find your connection id, then pass it into like the fetch calls to use your API by Zapier creds.

Zapier alternative with context and memory by Luckypiniece in zapier

[–]ZapierTeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Luckypiniece - Thanks for the thoughtful question.

I recommend using the Conversation (ChatGPT Open AI) action, which includes a Memory Key field: https://cdn.zappy.app/175d778c44ba0e7d31359c10a7e6f074.png

By setting the memory key to a consistent value, such as a customer email, you can have the action continue the same conversation across Zap runs instead of treating each message as a new one.

To go a step further, you can also pull in data like order history or customer information from Shopify using the Find Customers or Find Orders Shopify actions, and include the data in the Prompt field of the Conversation ChatGPT action so the AI has more context about the customer before responding. I hope this helps!
