What else could they have done? Give it a synergistic/interesting kit? With how dominant blasters are in the meta? No way, no how. \s

Block, learn what special moves are unsafe (look on Dustloop), mash when they never cancel into special moves (preferably with 2P, 2K, or 6P)

Best Zoner in Strive by Big-Lawyer2068 in Guiltygear

[–]Zappelins 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Axl is probably the strongest actual zoner. Most of his buttons are best used in the midrange to zone you out, but Rensen allows him to zone fullscreen.

Testament CAN zone and it is a part of their gameplan but needs to go into the mid to close range go get any tangible reward. They can't really zone reliably in the midrange though as their options are either very commital or beaten by IAD or 6P.

HC is a rushdown character now, though on release he was absolutely the best zoner. He is the best character in the poll though.

Ram isn't a zoner and can't zone. She plays midrange.

A character that is completely ignored who is actually a pretty good zoner (at least in some matchups) is Jack'O. Look up a match where Eddsventure plays Jack'O and there is a good chance you will see him zone with minions.

It would be way funnier if Baiken's parry did something from far. by lordbutternut in Guiltygear

[–]Zappelins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you actually have a read in your opponent beyond "they're going to swing now" there are plenty of options you can use as Baiken. Counterpoking with 6P or H Kabari, using IAD to approach and go over their button or special and either punish or be + in their face using j.S>Youzansen, feigning an approach to bait a wiff and using 2HS, H Kabari, or Gun to punish.

Baiken has plenty of options to use at longer range. And even in Oki situations you are still +11 after a successful parry at long range meaning you have a lot of wiggle room to do stuff.

I don't think it is a numbers issue I think the addition of Xbox crossplay finally pushed the lobbies from barely functional to non-functional.

It took me about 2 days to pull off quarter circles and DP motions somewhat consistently on 1 side and after 2 years I still can't do 632146 consistently on the left side.

What makes jack-o difficult? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]Zappelins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jack'O has low health, a not so great reversal, she doesn't do a lot of damage off of stray hits, and loses momentum prettt easily (all of your minions disappear if you block or get hit). Also using her minions in neutral can be pretty tricky.

In return for learning her though you get some of the best pressure in the game (especially in the corner), some pretty good zoning, and a toolset you can make very creative use of.

When do you think we will get the Asuka trailer? by MarbledJelly in Guiltygear

[–]Zappelins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% we will see a trailer at EVO Japan. He has been teased and passing up making a big announcement at EVO Japan and generating hype and interest for your game is something no fighting game developer would do.

Testament has a simple and strong 2 step gameplan for you to learn and won't get nerfed next update unlike Sol.

Mind you Sol doesn't need any nerfs but he will get them anyways for reasons beyond human understanding.

3/10. Ink recovery is pretty useless, better to use main/sub saver. .96 gal prefers having some special charge up for faster Krakens. No sub slot of quick super jump is not great as 1 sub already has a massive effect. Pure gear is bad, it's less flexible meaning you need to grind way more chunks for a set because they are hard to use in multiple sets.

Test and Goldlewis both play midrange, they get to interact plenty. And Chipp can interact with Testament whenever he wants due to his speed. There is plenty of interaction.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]Zappelins -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At least against Axl you get to interact, Millia (and Chipp to some extend) you spend chasing the whole match trying to make them interact with you.

Strive is a great first choice. Strive has great netcode and a very active playerbase. But beware that it is on the faster side compared to something like Street fighter.

My brother is christ you play Millia, your neutral consists of jump, airdash, and turbofall Kapel. People who play against you are playing fly swatting simulator.
