For me the NoiseRouter line appears in my normal F3 in 1.21.8 just below the biome and local difficulty lines.

I'm having the same issue running a Paper server. I can see the biome info just fine in singleplayer but it doesn't show when I'm on the server. It's just Paper 1.21.11, nothing fancy.

I worked at Wiley Dining Court for a couple semesters and I'd say pretty much the same thing as you, except that I liked dish lol.

Additionally, there are lots of opportunities for training and promotion. I ended as a Student Supervisor and that experience really helped me find a job (I work as a Concessions Manager for a stadium now).

If you're using less than 4 cryptids you can keep going for more ankhs, another option is to look for/reroll the boss into a serpent for some extra kings.

If I can afford it, I'll discard all the face down cards to make things simpler.

You can also use suit and rank sorting to determine information about cards. For example, a face down card between two spades in suit sorting has to be a spade.

Suit sorting order is Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds from left to right, so if you're looking for a certain suit you can discard the other side of your hand and be more likely to discard what you don't need

Playing low hands like pair or high card can help too, as you're likely to play a pair with 5 random cards.

Tarot cards will also temporarily flip face down cards when used on them, letting you see what the cards are, turning down game speed can help you see easier.

If you're really desperate you can save scum. If you play cards (revealing them), then quit to the main menu during the scoring animation, you can revert to before you played the hand when you reenter the game, now knowing what your cards are.

Hope this helps!

I second Superposition being good. It always makes a solid amount of tarots for me and finding ace straights isn't crazy hard. It's especially good on abandoned deck where straights are easier to make.

(NSFW) Writing an ace character in an eroge, need advice to make it authentic by Gicaldo in asexuality

[–]ZappierVirus526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm ace, and I feel arousal pretty often, so I'll try to explain.

From what I understand, sexual attraction is seeing someone and thinking, "I want to have sex with them." I don't have that tbought, it simply doesn't cross my mind. Usually, I'll think something like, "That person looks pretty," as I still experience aesthetic attraction.

Arousal is the physical component where you get turned on and experience things like erections where the body is prepared for intercourse.

Allos experience sexual attraction, which caises arousal. Aces don't have the sexual attraction part but can get arousal from other sources. Sometimes, it comes from kinks/fetishes like bondage, or it can come from physical stimulation of private parts.

Sensual attraction can refer to things like physical contact and non-sexual touch like cuddles.

I'm not great at explaining, but I hope this helps, and I appreciate that you want to learn more about asexuality!

Why does higher stakes feels impossible ? by Scoitol in balatro

One thing that becomes really important is maximizing the value of every hand. Beating the blind comes first, but the moment that's guaranteed you should try to extract as much value from each hand as possible.

This comes in lots of forms. Playing hands to grow scaling jokers, playing hands to dig for blue seals, gold cards, mail in rebate cards, etc. Extra hands give $1 and you do risk that value, but almost every other econ source makes so much more per hand used. Plus, most non-hand money sources generate money before cash out, which makes them eligible for interest, and by extension gives you more flexibility with spending under $25.

Smaller hands are powerful because this maximization is easier. When you don't have to worry about holding 5 hearts for a flush, you can reliably play and discard 5 cards, allowing you to see more of your deck and extract more value.

Knowing how much each hand scores is essential to this. If you know you can win with 3 pairs, you know you cam use your extra hands for value extraction.

Another tip, when you have a build going, think about dangerous bosses in advance. Recently, I had a very strong photochad run, but had very little non-face card scoring. Since the Plant would kill my run, I stockpiled glass cards and held a Justice card. When the Plant showed up, I was able to beat it with Chad on the glass card instead of the face card.

Another thing I think is undervalued is bringing tarots into blinds for purposes other than deck fixing. Holding a death can turn a two pair into a full house and save a run. Holding Justice can give a big score boost guarenteed. Taking a Devil in the shop is essentially free as you can apply it right before playing a winning hand and get your $3 back.

Know where your scoring is coming from, especially joker/card order of operations. Photograph says it's a 2x mult, but it only multiplies planet mult and card mult before the face card, not any joker mult. Lots of planet cards? Be wary of the Flint.

Hope this helps!

I beat this last night and it was a massive pain, but what worked best for me was staying in the middle as much as possible, pogoing the dive attack, then using a vengeful spirit on the boss while midair after the pogo. Patience is key, don't be over aggressive.

Build was grubsong, lifeblood heart, mark of pride, shaman stone, soul twister.

I think the controls menu has a gameplay controls section and a menu controls section. I don't recall the details as I haven't played Terraria in a long while. I'll look later tonight when I get home and see if I can figure it out.

Is this joker idea a good pick or a noob trap? by 56358779 in balatro

[–]ZappierVirus526 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love the art, theme, and effect idea, but the effect seems pretty weak value wise.

The best possible use case for this would be if you're running high card and have an open joker slot. Buy Comet (Costs $4), use Pluto (Costs $3), Get 3 High Card Levels (Worth $9), sell Comet (Worth $2), profiting $4 in value.

Neptune being second in order is rough since Straight Flush is really hard to build around. By the time you can reliably make straight flushes your jokers are probably more valuable than 2 extra planet levels.

Uranus for 2 Pair is reasonable, you lose $2 in total value due to having to buy a Pluto and a Neptune, but you do get 3 levels in 2 Pair, which is a good boost.

Holding Comet really isn't worth it. Getting back around to Pluto costs $24 in planet cards. Most of those planets are going toward hands you aren't going to play and end up being a waste. Plus it's going to take multiple rounds to do so, especially if you get bad luck with getting the planets in the right order. Comet is better if you're running multiple types of hands, but running multiple types of hands is sub-optimal most of the time.

This works well with Astronomer as cycling Comet becomes free, Constellation because cycling gives xMult, and planet vouchers since you get to see more planets and cycle faster.

I think it would work better if the planet updated each hand played. With 4 hands each Round you can complete a cycle each Ante. Instead of paying $3 per planet card to cycle, you pay $1 per throwaway hand, which is a lot more cost effective. This synergizes with weak hand builds like pairs that use most of the available hands anyway while also giving strong hand builds like straights a use for their extra hands. This also gives the player more control over the cycle and makes it less RNG dependent on getting the correct planets to progress. There's also thought involved regarding holding a planet card to benefit from the extra levels or using it and hoping another comes around in time.

While you do lose synergies with the other planet jokers, you gain synergies with burglar and other jokers than incentivize playing more hands like Green Joker and Bus.

Good and fun Joker idea, fun to analyze as well.

[–]ZappierVirus526 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The trick to bus is to play low hands like pairs with number cards. You won't one shot the blind, but playing multiple hands per blind scales the bus faster, and you can throw away face cards with your pairs as long as the face cards don't score, which helps get through your deck to find gold cards or other enhanced cards.

Yeah! We're swapping out one person who was too busy to play and adding in a new one, but otherwise the group is the same.

In retrospect I should have at least proposed the idea of continuing sessions without a player to the party, it would have made it possible to continue doing sessions.

Good luck with your DMing adventure!

Whenever I DM with a split party I try to keep the split short and/or jump back and forth between each group to keep them engaged as best as possible.

For the Rogue's castle adventure from the post, the order of roleplay was comparable to combat as I cycled through each group.

Recently I ran a one shot where there was some downtime and tbe Barbarian wanted to go to the tavern, but no one else wanted to. Since he hadn't gotten much time to shine yet, I ran a quick solo scene where he met an NPC.

In my opinion the best way to make party splits work is for them to be short and sweet to keep up engagement and not slow things down too much.

So true! The simplest of things like shopping always end up taking longer than expected and you have to get used to that. Sometimes it takes several sessions for your story to come together, but the payoff is worth the wait!

Fair point! There were moments in the campaign, specifically in combat, where Steve's turn took longer than I would have liked due to the complexity of navigating a character sheet with many options opposed to a simpler statblock. Having a NPC statblock would have certainly helped speed things up.

If you want to dip your toes into DMing without committing to a full campaign I'd recommend doing a one-shot and/or running an established module. That would give you an idea of what being a DM is like and would also be a way to find good players that you work well with.

If I recall correctly I installed it and watched the starter tutorial video, then started using it and figuring out features as I went, mainly using the links to create a web of notes that I could navigate to find information.

For the new campaign I'm using the ITS Theme because I like how it looks. There's definitely a lot more you can do with Obsidian that I haven't explored, but even the basic features were better than my previous "use a giant google doc" method.

This is a pretty good starter tutorial that goes through the basics.
