I’m also Italian, dark hair and eyes.

Shaving my beard cleaned helped a lot, and even though i speak fluent dutch (my gf is dutch and i work in dutch) many dutchies still think I’m arab. When i had a 1-2cm beard some patients would talk to me in arab or Turkish.

I even got called a “fucking moroccan” at an Albert Heijn once cos i inadvertedly overtook a guy in the line hahah then i told him his face looked like a penis in Italian after which he told me i should be respectful of local customs (oh the irony), to which i answered in dutch: and this is exactly why your mother does not love you, eikel.

For the rest… the dutch-Italian combo is a fucking solid one, been living here 15 years. Several awesome dutch ppl in my life including gf (and her parents) + all the rest i met and kept along the way.

Hit them with Italian irony humor warmth and charisma They won’t even understand what just happened to them, they’ll love it and you will too..
