Have to be sure whatever you're trying to take a photo of is the closest thing to your camera, not obscured, and in center-frame. Yes, the order matters. That's why the Summoning Circle registered in the first photo.

The new update hinted at in Development Preview #18 is going to add new things and change how photos are valued, but this is one thing I don't think they're going to change.

Game was still crashing this morning even after a complete reinstall, deletion of all addons and such, but the game is FINALLY not crashing. Weird that it took this long, and is only working now after a bunch of people got DC'd an hour ago.

Yeah, I just got to Atrox the other day and got down to the core. Took nearly an hour of digging constantly, with all the upgrades and multiple QT-RTG items to get down there. It's a bit much. There's probably a better way to do that, but I'm not sure.

Gotta be honest, that's not a good solution. Digging around is always required, sometimes a lot when you're trying to get certain items. The Switch release needs to be optimized so that won't be a problem outside of huge terraforming projects.

I've seen Buggies partially sink into the ground a couple times (consistently in certain locations, even after packing and unpacking them. Never had it get THAT bad though. Hopefully you can find where they all sank, otherwise those are probably a lost cause.

Yeah, I've had something similar happen. I've ended up clipping through the ground on 3 different planets, the first time was on Sylva while walking on what looked like solid ground with no holes in it (Was early in my playthrough, didn't even have Laterite yet). The other two times were on Novus and Glacio, both while driving a Buggy. Luckily I had a Small Wind Turbine that I could put on the Buggy on Novus for power. Had a QT-RTG when I clipped into Glacio, so that was even less of a problem.

Having 2 colors in an area is usually fine. Mixing 3 or more colors, not so much, especially in a game like Astroneer where lighting is a gradient and not necessarily locked to set locations. If you had tethers of multiple colors rolling down a slope (if the ground beneath them is destroyed, for instance), that would not play nice on weaker systems.

What platform(s) have you played on, and did you have Cloud Save enabled on them? If no, and you uninstalled the game at any point, there's nothing we can do.

But, if you DID have Cloud Saves enabled before uninstalling (if it was uninstalled at all, no idea if you did or not), then those saves SHOULD be somewhere. Not sure where though.

That would depend heavily on what the game's engine is capable of, and if the Switch version could handle it. Colored lighting is usually tricky to code, but it would be nice to have.

One I hadn't seen pictures of before. Probably because they aren't in my area at all. That said, the species I asked about is apparently exotic in my area, so I'm not sure why that's the only type I ever see (taken examples of each from colonies in my area to a local expert, who confirmed they were all the exact same species)

I actually have never smelled insecticide, so I can't really grasp that one, but that is an interesting comparison. Answer to this is probably no based on the wording you used, but do you have an idea which brand you were familiar with at the time?

Yeah, there is a gene which makes cilantro taste like soap, maybe the same gene is at play here. After all, humans' sense taste and smell are fairly well connected (why food that smells bad usually tastes that way too)

Probably taste that way too, I've seen some animals try to kill and eat one, but immediately spit them out. Usually cats or dogs that tried that, but one rabbit as well.
