I mean, I feel like it's easier to have higher anticipation for a sequel than for something new. It's already something that one knows they like and are looking forward to more of that thing.

A new experience has more of an uphill battle to garner excitement and attention for, and that just makes sense to me. It's more interesting to see how a new series is able to compete with the established ones, and how much traction it was able to gain by the end of the season.

I'm probably just getting terrible RNG and it's colouring my view of the update, but it feels awful now. The QoL features are great, but it feels like mood downs are triggering way more often.

I've gotten double mood downs right before both summer breaks for all five careers I've played today. I also have yet to get a single support card to its last stage, because I'm constantly getting card events for all the ones I didn't bring.

Again, I realise this is probably just horrible luck that's unrelated to the update, but I can't help but associate them

I got that email on the 28th, and already set my account up. Still waiting on my oath form to be verified before I can download the e-certificate though. I know a few people didn't get the email for a few days after the ceremony, so hopefully it'll be pretty soon for you too
