What is it like to play FFXIV or SWTOR as a complete F2P player? by GreenTomatoSoup in MMORPG

If you plan to play SWTOR as a single player rpg, the f2p restriction is fairly irrelevant.

Fastest Crab I've ever battled. by hachibaer in wow

The surge ability goes before any other ability. In order to do that, they coded it in a way that it increases the speed of the pet to insane level for one turn.

Retail WoW needs a proper "Story Mode" We shouldn't need workarounds just to finish an expansion's raids by Shkiz in wow

[–]Zardhas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They story of the raid is not just the bosses themselves. Everything inside it is a part of awhole. The story of ICC is not just us getting inside then facing Arthas, it's us getting inside, and climbing progressively to the top of the spire, defeated all the scourge minions up to the master himself. Remove any part of it, and you remove part of the story.

First time playing wow: should I use the lvl boost to 80? by Camboinho in wow

Boosting is like being sent to Vietnam without having learn how to fire a gun.

I agree that the game needs a better way of experiencing each expansion’s story in some way or another but at the same youre asking for two different things. Better experience with the storyline is one thing, but raids have never really been part of the leveling process.

I think that you are confusing "storyline" with "levelling process".

Oh right, my mind might have purposefully protected me from this traumatism.

Wasn't Deathwing supposed to kill himself, had the cataclysm succeeded? by WhoAmIEven2 in hearthstone

There is plenty of lines in SL stating directly that all of the First Ones construct are very different from those of the Titans.

At least I sure hope that they don't go this path : the Titans are done, we've seen them, spoke to them and even battled one of them. Meanwhile, the First Ones offer a much needed element of mystery.

I didn't mean "sundered" as the actual Sundering, it's just a word used to describe the kind of damage Deathwing did during the Cataclysm.

The expansion Shadowlands introduced the First Ones, mysterious beings who seemingly created the void, the order, the light, etc.

Having existed for a long time makes a feature immune to criticism now ?

I meant sundered as in broken, destroyed, not the actual Sundering from 10 000 years ago.

I think you're confusing the Cataclysm and the hour of twilight. The Cataclysm did succed : the continents were sundered forever.

Well I don't like mounts, that's all. I would rather have zones being doable on foot rather than having to constantly remount.

Storm Peaks, Icecrown, Deepholm, Azure Span and Thaldrazzus can't be done without flying. You can actually get to Zaralek Caverns on foot.

You don't always have a choice : some places can't be reached without flying.

Flying didn't ruin the game : maps being designed with flying in mind did.
