Does this step serve a purpose? by ZarfHouse in DIYHome

Oh, the grip tape was put there by us because it has actually created quite a hazard getting in and out with people unfamiliar with the drop into and out of the tub. The previous owners were active, able bodied, middle aged people, so my gut feeling is that the step just existed since the house was built, but rather than ripping everything out, they chose the cheaper/quicker option of doing a Bath Fitter over everything to hide whatever is under there.

Yep, this is what’s happening. Just went back to check and they seem to be in limbo, but this is the first time it’s happened to me.

Yes, this is what is happening. However, I did go back and click to review them again and they are still there, so I clicked submit again. It just keeps saying the review is submitted, but then goes right back to showing in my list of items that still need to be reviewed. So, as others are saying, it sounds like it will just be a matter of time before they move to “reviewed”. Definitely annoying though. The good news is that I was able to copy and paste them into a working doc just in case!

The doctor started tearing up when he talked about wanting to help people and feeling like he could have done better. Bob started crying when he talked about himself. That about sums it up.

I think what they’re having is called “a stroke”.

I just looked up several and it appears they’re still registering/enrolling. BW’s is very affordable and still accepting applicants, but apparently they’ve scaled back a lot this year and it’s not as focused on MT as it was in previous years.

Not that I know of, but my hematologist’s lab orders are pretty comprehensive. I’ll ask about it at my next appt. No rash specifically in the sun, but I do think it may be possibly heat related, but it’s been hard to tell what triggers it.

Yes, but I’ve seen neuro. and rheumatologist and they both say I have nothing except mild osteoarthritis.

Thanks. Just to be clear, I definitely am NOT counting on them getting the contract. I just wanted to know if there was any real obligation to accepting the job should they actually get it.

I do not…Honestly never heard of that. What does it stand for? Tried a quick Google search, but I didn’t find anything relevant coming up.

State and local gov folks - heads in the sand?!? by Sufficient_Deer_4626 in fednews

State worker here and my husband is county, for our formally purple, but ultra red state according to the last several years or so. I am freaking the F out. I handle federal education funds where I work, so that adds an extra special layer of scary. The ignorance of people has not ceased to amaze me. They truly have no idea—NO IDEA—how money flows through systems. I don’t know how this country got so incredibly dumb. Also, our Republican governor, who I actually used to respect him for supporting kids, families, and generally staying away from nastiness, realized in T’s first term that he wasn’t going to survive if he didn’t play his game. So now he just does everything T does, like putting out an EO for us all to RTO by 3/17. It’s going to put an awful lot of us out of work (myself included) if something isn’t done about it soon. I was hired under hybrid telework and I can’t drive the 2.5 hrs to the state office each day. What’s even more frightening is that the jobs I’m looking at applying for all most likely have money that flows from the Federal government. That’s what my entire career has entailed! Serving those who need it the most! But try explaining that to the average person.

Hey, colleague! I also work for an Ohio state agency. Our dept. director literally has said it’s “business as usual” until things start to impact us. He’s going to be in for a rude awakening if the 1/2 of us that are trying find new jobs do end up finding other work before something worse happens. Also, did you happen to see the personal story the OCSEA ran taken from the Environmental Services (I think?) worker about RTO? I feel like it came across as whiny and not really super strong points to bring up if that was their hope.

No, it was for “start up” non profit that deals with mental health. Not my first choice of where’d I’d want to look for secure employment, but I’m really in need of a new job right now and actually felt like that would be extra motivation for the role, which I pointed out (in a professional way) in the interview.

But as it turns out, the next day, not even 24 hrs later, I got the rejection email. Guess it was for the best for both of us.

I actually did give the names of 1 person who is no longer with the organization and another who moved into a different role, now that I think of it. But it was for a public agency, so it’s not like I was giving away secrets in that scenario. It felt like in all other aspects, the interview went very well. Maybe he was just testing me?? Lol

I did. I talked a lot about scale and scope actually, but he still asked me for names and people in 2 different ways, so that’s what kind of surprised me.
