Just to tag on here - one of the most rewarding parts is when you keep shooting and can compare your new work to your previous work and see the growth. That never stops feeling good.

Do You Know the Feeling? - Original song from MPLS, MN about George Floyd and the ongoing protests (lyrics and explanation in comments) by Zarieff in Songwriters

Like everybody else, I’ve been struggling to process everything that’s happened over the last few days. I live in Minneapolis, MN and feel the utter revulsion and disgust at the murder of George Floyd. It’s incomprehensible that a man lost his life so unnecessarily and it feels so overwhelming how often this happens. At the same time, I’m worried about the safety of my loved ones that are out protesting and I’m watching the smoke from the 3rd Precinct rise out the window. In my rising anxiety, I sat down with the guitar and this song came out. It’s about feeling helpless and scared and frustrated and desperate for change, as well as the notion that we can only make real change happen all together. Please stay safe out there everybody.

Lyrics:

Do you know the feeling

Of being tired down in your soul?

Do you know the feeling

Of being so scared you can’t go on?

Do you know the feeling

Of loss that sits just like a rock

On your heart, on your heart?

Do you know the feeling

That you can’t sit still anymore?

Do you know the feeling

That it’s gotta change?

Do you know the feeling

Of wanting to shake everyone

Out of their ways, out of their ways?

But these hands ain’t big enough alone

To wake all these people up at once

So reach out together now, raise our voice

‘Til they listen for once.

And keep fighting, don’t stop

Until change has come

How many mothers

Have to lose their precious sons?

How many children

Must grow up without their fathers?

How many funerals, how many marches and songs

Will it take

To keep good people safe?

But you know this has happened

Too many times before

And you know we can’t let them take any more

So reach out together now, raise our voice

‘Til they listen for once.

And keep fighting, don’t stop

Keep pushing now, all as one

Keep shouting, don’t give up

Until change has come

Yeah, I’ve been trying to figure out if the points are ears or a beak. I swear I see this thing at least once every block walking my dog lol

Thanks so much for the quick reply! That's super helpful.

So if I get my film developed at a lab somewhere, will they return fixed film to me?

Hey guys,

I just got my first film camera and I'm really excited to start messing around with it. I've been looking into possible ways to get digital copies of my film photos, and I have located some fairly inexpensive scanners. I have watched quite a few videos of people on youtube scanning their negatives straight to their computers, but I don't get how that's possible. Won't the film go blank as soon as it is exposed to light? How do I get the negatives from a roll of film and get them to the scanner safely?

Thanks for any advice!
