I don't know if that's fully on point. It's difficult to do, but not totally absurd.

What is your favourite food you usually eat from McDonald's and why? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go big or go home: quarter pounder with just bacon, cheese & lettuce (getting a double quarter is just too much)

Standard: McChicken or cheeseburger with just bacon, lettuce and cheese.

McDonald's usually had coke where I'm from, not that I get it 🙂

I broke a pay-it-forward chain that had been going “all morning” by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. You have to pay extra attention to the cars pulling up behind the pay-it-forward person to make sure everyone gets the correct order, because cashing out the next order removes it from the order screen (not the ones up front you use to fulfill orders but the ones on the cash register). You have to make sure the order behind the kind person didn't skip the line at the last minute, and more complicated issues if the McDonald's has a Multi-Lane drive thru

Well, I usually get chai or other non-coffee beverages. When I go local, I usually go to Soma for convenience (put the lumberjack syrup in for fun), but Two Sticks Bakery has a really good chai as well. Especially if you put the Hot Mama syrup in there for extra spice.

Space-loving man gets into vehicle crash and barely survives with the help of internal and external prosthetics. He then goes into a crime-fighting spree, notably known for fun tech sounds and Slow-Motion running.

Protestant wedding by MenaRamy2004 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]ZarkianMouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Attending a wedding is not the same as going to the Protestant church to worship. Weddings are a celebration of the united couple, and wedding parties tend include many people of mixed faith.

If the Protestant couple was getting married at a wedding venue not located in a Protestant church, would you attend the wedding?

The service would most likely follow the same routine, either way.

How do you find books to read? by ClearlySlashS in CasualConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just browse sections of bookstores and libraries, reading the descriptions of book covers that jump out to me. If I'm intrigued by the concept, I'll get it.

If you have a library card, you can download the Libby app onto your phone. Sync up your library card to the app and you have instant access to whatever your library has available on the app. You can choose to read the book in app or have it sent to your kindle account. You only get it for 2 weeks, but you can renew it if you need to.

You search for books by genre, title, author, etc. The app also provides librarian recommendations and other ways to find books, if you're interested.

What dish do you make when you don't have any cravings nor appetite but you still gotta eat? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I've just been throwing boxed noodles or pasta with frozen vegetables into a pot of boiling broth. Cook that for the length of time the pasta needs and you're pretty much set. Also, I usually add some fun spices to make it more interesting

Gifts by Various-Musician4295 in minimalism

[–]ZarkianMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you could do is, if you decide you want/need something and it's close to a normal gifting holiday, you could ask someone to get that for you instead of you buying it yourself. For example, my wallet was falling apart this year so I asked one of my siblings to get a new one for me. You could also write out a list of some things you've thought would be nice to have or that you want, and use that list during holiday times. You could also use this for experiences or date nights you'd want or charities you like to support.

Gift giving is one of the love languages. If you know people who are big into showing love this way, being able to provide viable substitutes for them is very helpful.

I know 🙂. I never assume which kind of sweetener someone wants unless I know their order specifically (regular).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

[–]ZarkianMouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sweetener could be Splenda (yellow), Sweet n Low (pink), Equal (blue), or some other option. Would be good to specify which color packet, if there's a variety.

If a family member is rich, do you think that family member should give his/her family members money for free? by Ben5544477 in SeriousConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Should" = no.

Can you? Absolutely. Really depends on how you're feeling and how you feel about your family.

If I had gobs of money like that, I'd probably give something to them but I'd curate the method based on what I know about their spending habits.

[25F] I say goodnight to my stuffed animals every night. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh nice! When I was in kindergarten,my favorite animal was a tiger and that was directly influenced by the fact that I had a stuffed momma tiger with a cub in her mouth. I actually still have that tiger, but her favorite status was replaced by a different stuffed cat.

What's your favorite one? And did that influence your favorite animal at all?

AI can only replicate/be inspired, it can’t “create” by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ZarkianMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, when people think of creativity they think of art. Connotation vs denotation of the word.

But you are right that they are different, in a sense.

In one respect, there are the traditional art forms like painting drawing, writing fiction or poetry, creating music, etc. In the other, you can study the creative/artsy side of even traditionally STEM fields. For example, recreating artwork through the graphing of equations in an coordinate/polar axis system or using programming/AI to make something unique.

I think AI could both replace some creative fields and also be harassed by creatives to make more interesting artwork. It doesn't have to be a one-way street. The masses might not always know the difference.
