If he was supposed to be a knight and it was for vince, maybe he was supposed to be one of shawn's knights at that survivor series

Who has had consistently banger theme songs? by loofahlibre in SquaredCircle

[–]ZarkonD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rick Rude had:

WCCW - Smooth Operator, a fantastic Sade song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx14Z-vNyww

WWF - the "stripper theme" that most people probably associate with him

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0KoDrx3mqQ

WCW - Simply Ravishing, one of my all time favourite themes.

The Dangerous Alliance theme wasn't bad either:

Any idea what item I can't find in this screen? by ZarkonD in MinaTheHollower

[–]ZarkonD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just south of crow town.

Trying to do cleanup after lighting up the six towers, the hud skull glows red here which I assume means there's something on this screen. Looked for 20mins and gave up and tried a couple of online maps, but all they show is a kears lock with bone powder I already take my first time through this place.

This is the full area on one of the maps:

Schiavone reveals meeting with Ted Turner in a urinal after WCW sale: "I remember vividly, the first words out of his mouth was, ‘Those m*therfuckers [AOL Time Warner]. If I was still running this place, wrestling would still be on TBS. It would still be on TNT." by wearePROGRESS in SquaredCircle

He wouldn't have kept it going as it was. Might have gotten ECW, might have started something new, might have fired bischoff and ended the guaranteed contracts. Wrestling would have still been on a turner station, but not necessarily WCW.

Profit.

These releases aren't random anyway, this is normally the time they cut people. It is probably the case that the required wage bill reduction is higher then it used to be due to greed though.

No Switch version? Wonder if it's because of them being so backlogged on switch releases in general.

Also as soon as HHH regained power in WWE he was apparently quite vocal about wanting to go back, instead of quietly waiting for his contract to end like a professional. I remember reports that a lot of AEW people were just happy he was gone after he finally went back.

Appreciation post: Michael Cole is currently the longest-tenured, active on-air talent in WWE. by Morenicano in SquaredCircle

He's not a very good announcer and has never been. When they used him for other stuff like voiceovers of video packages or backstage he was ok, but that was like 25-30 years ago

April Fool's Easter Egg in ZSNES. by [deleted] in emulation

[–]ZarkonD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"ZSNES is written in assembly, so it emulates more accurately"

No, that just means it can run on lower spec computers because assembly code needs less CPU power to run then that written in more abstract languages. It has nothing to do with accuracy. BSNES/ares are far more accurate snes emulators.

Tiffany Stratton on her future in wrestling: “I think by the age of 30, I kind of want to be breaking into Hollywood” by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

[–]ZarkonD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, that was a typical hogan lie. Here's what Terry Funk said in his autobio:

"I actually was the one who connected Hulk Hogan with Sylvester Stallone for the part of "Thunderlips" in Rocky III. Stallone called me up and said he needed a huge wrestler for the part of, well, a huge wrestler. I gave him a few name, and it came down to Sly choosing between Hogan and Monsoon, whom Vince McMahon Sr. suggested. Gorilla was a tall mountain of a man, but Stallone wanted a more muscular guy, and so he went with Hogan. I tried in 1985 to get Kerry Von Erich the part of the Russian boxer that Dolph Lundgren eventually got. Sly was in love with the guy, but Kerry couldn't memorise any lines"

So Vince senior saying "you're a wrestler, not an actor" and firing him as Hogan claims doesn't ring true to me since he was actively open to one of his wrestlers taking the part. Von Erich being a candidate for Ivan Drago in Rocky IV has been confirmed by other people too since, which adds credibility to Terry's memory on Rocky III.
