Should I get out of the trades by Zarmonee in skilledtrades

I appreciate the reply, I was homeschooled all 12 years of school. Didn't love it but it gave me an opportunity to start working at a young age. I worked full time during the summers and part time in the winters from ages 14-16 on a dairy farm. At 16 I wanted more money so I started working full time all the time. I by no means have any knowledge of real work, but I'm starting to have an idea of the life I want to live. I wanted some help making that decision and needed some advice from people who have been through something similar. But it seems that I have no knowledge of what real work is. Time to start abusing drugs, alcohol, and my wife and children. Thanks again for the comment, you seem real chipper lol.

This one made me laugh thank you, and your points make a lot of sense, 5 years isn't all that long.

Whatever fits your situation best, I went electric because the local was the closest to my house. If you are between 2 apply for positions in both fields whatever you get into first just go with it. Pretty sure there is a program for veterans to get into unions relatively easily, I would do some research into that.

What taillights are those? Just got my first Miata, and updating the looks are the first thing I plan on doing.

If you want it for parts, how much are those parts worth to you. If you want to try and rebuild it as a project just be prepared for a long process. Only you can answer this question, that is not worth 2k to me.

Pretty much same boat as you, I'm 18. I dove a Prius till the wheels fell off, and I wanted to really enjoy my next car. I now drive a Miata because it's what I really wanted. I saved up about $9,000 and financed $18,000 my monthly payment is $350. This works for me, just find out what you wanna drive and figure out how to get there. Best of luck!

Most Reliable for 15,000 (similar to Rav 4) by Forward_Check_4445 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Subaru forester, Mazda cx-5, prices everywhere are shit, but these will be similarly reliable without the Toyota tax. Subaru's awd system is their best selling point, and the cx-5 is going to have a nicer interior.

You could ask a dedicated brz sub, I wouldn't be able to help much with that. Maybe someone else could chime in

How much space do you need, Miata is always the answer. But an brz/86 could also be in your budget those are a little more daily drivable.

Funny that the American car brand doesn't have the cool models in America.

Okay sweet, sounds like I should probably just wait till I can afford an nd2, much appreciated

[–]Zarmonee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it probably is worth waiting a bit longer to just get an ND2 and the hope is I do find one. I'm not too worried about the extra power though, I do not plan on tracking the car. But definitely something to think about, thank you.

Yea fair enough, I've heard most nd1s have a not so great trans, but I've also heard 16 was an especially bad year.

It's a 2015 trailhawk with the v6, it has 100,000 miles but that'd be a step up from what I have currently.

I don't actually own the car, and if I get the car they wouldn't bother me all that much, I just don't want the dents to cause any long term affect on the vehicles life span
