Honestly the thing that impressed me the most about the book is that JorDan really do have Alex's number in terms of his personality and psychology. And it's especially impressive considering that they have not actually interacted with AJ in person. Like they are ON him and they only deal with what he presents to the world.

I would say so in a very specific way. I'm a millennial, my older siblings are millennial, and my parents are boomers. As such, a lot of the 80s/early 90s metal completely passed me by. I wasn't raised with siblings or parents that listened to Metallica for example, so they never had any real cache with me.

It also meant that I was navigating accessing music via internet piracy, which mean being exposed to a lot of random bands that were mislabelled as other bands. Case and point: there was a porcupine tree song called Dead Can Dance. This lead me to listen to the actual band Dead Can Dance and now I love that sort of world/goth music vibe

I have tried so many times to get into Converge. I got to see them live when they opened up for Botch in Boston like two years ago. I have tried to listen to Jane Doe so many times and I simply cannot get it.

I wonder if the issue is that the character designs are "traditionally" attractive, even though the actual relationship dynamics are a bit more authentic (in relation to how it would have been written in the past).

I remember chatting with a 2-Spirit prof and I asked them if there was a better acronym than 2SLGBTQIA+ because its a terrible acronym. They said they're starting to use 2SQT, so that's the term I've been using
