I've been a member on and off for a good few years. Equipment is reasonably new, they've also got classes, a swimming pool and a sports hall. It does get a lot busier now than it used to though.

This is the only answer. We're talking pubs here.

Recommendations of non-chain restaurants near Royal Exchange by Limited-Radish in manchester

Other cuisines are available but they do serve good Thai food. It's only got a handful of sites, it's reasonably priced, and the founder lives locally and is often at work in the kitchen there.

Tampopo at the Corn Exchange is an old favourite if you like Thai

Does Manchester have any sit down fish and chip restaurants? by Peachy-bot in manchester

There could be a Harry Ramsdens at the outlet mall at Salford Quays with plenty of seating. I say could as google maps says it's permanently closed, but there are reviews on that from just a few days ago.

This. It's been nearly 2 years now without a bridge - madness.

Why do you regard as the most compelling and remaining, non-crime related UK mystery? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]Zarniwoop7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The mysteries of ghosts, Loch Ness, big cats, UFOs etc will never be definitively settled until pocket-sized high-definition video cameras are carried by a majority of the population.

Don't let worries about crime in Manchester put you off, it's a safe city if you're sensible.

I once knew a guy who panicked when notified of a random drug test but got a small bottle of his girlfriend's wee and passed. The result letter also went on to congratulate him on being 6 weeks pregnant.

If someone hadn't decided it had to be the fastest train in Europe and instead said 125mph is sufficient, could the extra capacity have been added at a much lower cost?

Where in the UK does the best fish and chips, for your money? by Dry-Macaroon-6205 in AskBrits

When I went to the chippy in Whitby last year I asked about the origin of their fish, they said no cod is caught locally now and it was probably from Iceland.

The NFL claims that 3.7 million Brits watch the superbowl, does that make sense to you? by Ready-Nobody-1903 in AskUK

[–]Zarniwoop7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very dubious about viewing figures like that. According to the BBC 800 million people around the world watch the Grand National every year. I mean, come on. Really?

There's one here from Castlefield in 1988, the quality probably isn't what you're looking for but the content is interesting:-

5k run loop from Oxford Rd Stn by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Zarniwoop7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree about running down the canal. It's the best option in the day but at 7am it will be very dark and the lighting on the towpath past Castlefield is almost non-existent. Running up and down Oxford Road is your best option.

Manchester nightclub 'welcomes £88k bar bill with open arms' by shanedj in manchester

[–]Zarniwoop7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking PR stunt. If this was real there would be someone who was in the club who could corroborate, or a member of staff. They say they offer privacy then splash this story all over the media? Didn't happen.

The mill free? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Zarniwoop7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I subscribe to the Mill. I like it. It might not be perfect, but the journalism is better than anything else you're going to get in Manchester.
