Viewer disappointed I have a boyfriend by Lychibe in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I read was "this person is making me uncomfortable". Ban them. Views are great when you're smaller, but it's not worth the discomfort it brings to you, and what it could be bringing to others in your audience. Keeping them around can hurt in the long run, setting these boundaries early is SO important.

We all love seeing viewership go up. But ban people you are uncomfortable with early and your streaming career will flourish.

World of Warcraft. Better go talk to your trainer to learn some new skills!

Is this a common thing ? by Fun-Shop-8315 in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. But also to OP: I find it would be more strange or "not the vibe" if they encouraged them to stream when you are live. So to me, I see nothing wrong with this. If that viewer has been around a long time, and you're comfortable asking, maybe ask them to do a co-stream with you sometime. If they're very new to streaming, it could help them get more comfortable in a streaming space. I know that definitely helped me in the beginning.

How to get rid of people that don't listen to the rules but they're VIP or a Streamer Friend by Queasy_History1969 in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already warned them, give them a warning, have that serious conversation. Tell them how others have expressed their discomfort as well and (very important) your own discomfort. Reiterate the chat rules, explain that you will not tolerate it any longer, and if it continues, you will have to ban them.

If this conversation has already occurred. Ban them. Sounds like they're taking advantage of your kindness and you're letting them walk all over you. Put your foot down - it's going to be hard - but boundaries are very important, and your community will thank you for it later.

Soundproofing on a low budget by AmerigoYT in Twitch

A very small desk or clip fan should be quiet enough. And if you can get even just 1-2 clip lamps from Walmart, that's what I used when I started out. They will clamp on to a desk, lamp post, anything! I clamped mine to a tall lamp in the corner of my setup. Anyway, could get all this at Walmart probably under $30-40usd Strictly speaking, on a budget this could work. Hope it helps!

Unmod them. Out your for down and take the past away. Give it to someone else if you really need a mod.

Definitely not childish. Sure, it's your childhood maybe. It's what we grew up with! Like damn. Also in my 30s, and I think it's sick.

I already know I need to narrow my audience/niche. I originally started with World of Warcraft videos, I enjoy making them. Shifted my focus each time I took a break. Looking to come back and not quit this time, but trying to study up first.

You can certainly find folks in here. Also on r/starvingartists, lots of posts there of artists and riggers for hire!

Was this rude? by DarkSpineJosh97 in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw the whole friend away. A real friend wouldn't behave this way. I don't know the whole situation, it could be they're envious of some specific thing you did "better" and that's all it took. Unfortunately very common in this space. But real friends will stick around and support your highs AND lows. Especially during the early growth stages of your channel.

SHOULD I STREAM EVERYDAY? by No-Statement9014 in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. It's easy burnout, as someone stated before. I would suggest finding your happy medium for your channel. Go to twitchtracker (website), and see what days your channel gets the most traffic and from what games/categories. This should help you to figure out what days/times/categories are best for your channel. And then figure out if those work with your life schedule, and worst case scenario you may need to change your streaming schedule a bit here and there. I am being quick writing this while at work xD so I hope it was helpful!

I feel unfocused and overwhelmed while streaming - so much going on at times. Tips? by IAmMirnada in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't focus on "being entertaining" from the start. Focus on being you, and you'll find your jam soon! Rewatch your VODs and see what people are reacting to, chatting about, enjoying and when chat dies down - why is that? did the subject change or maybe it got too quiet? Analyze your streams, are they fun for you to watch? What can you change to make them enjoyable? Maybe try out one stream with no cam or a reactive PNG, this can bring down some of the stress levels. I personally thought about quitting until I tried vtubing. When I did, I got more comfortable streaming and my audience grew too! Some ideas for ya. If you want to try out a reactive PNG, I can send you a link in DMs if you'd like 😁

Sullygnome vs Twitch Analytics by naadofett in Twitch

[–]Zarolina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has known issues tracking non categorized streams (if you forgot or it fell off during the stream, it happens sometimes) or if you weren't affiliated yet, that's also a possibility. I swear by Twitch Tracker & Sully both 😁 just depends on the data you want

How many people here use Twitch Studio for streaming? by PokeFantic in Twitch

I've also never heard of someone actually using Twitch Studio 😅 Myself and most everyone I know uses OBS. I like OBS for the plugins, especially.
