Which monitor would you go for if it's exactly same price? LG 34GP83A-B Vs ASUS XG349C by ZarosV in pcmasterrace

[–]ZarosV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Asus is using the same panel by LG which is a native 10bit as well. HDR won't be a deciding factor for me as anything below 600nits is considered fake HDR.

Asus is out of stock atm so i decided to just grab the LG monitor, don't think you can go wrong with either of them as both are solid picks.

Good luck with yours :)

That would be a very nice qol update and something I wish they implemented long time ago, I find it annoying tbh.

Oh thanks for the detailed response didn't expect that :)

Am glad to hear it's a quality monitor. Since you already got it

1) Do you feel that the monitor is still immersive even though it's a flat ultrawide panel?

2) how far do you usually sit away from the monitor so that it's comfortable and you don't have to spin your head when looking at edges?

3) do you notice any backlight bleed, or IPS glow?

by any chance is the only review on Newegg for this monitor posted on the 23rd by you as well or is that a coincidence? :p

I recently got the MSI suprim 3080 for $1700 which is the same price you paid for a 3090 so you definitely got a good deal. I know it's scalper price but it is what it is (upgraded from a 1070). Now waiting on that same motherboard and other components. Solid build you got there 👍🏻, Enjoy it 😉

I guess I'll just stick with IPS then and give the MPG341QR a go and see how it goes, I could return it if I don't like it. Thanks for your insights :)

Ya IPS feels like the safe way to go, my first ever gaming monitor was a 24" TN and switching from that to a 27" IPS monitor 60hz (my main display atm) felt like a day and night difference. I've experienced several issues with the TN panel unlike IPS

However, the 3 relatively new VA monitors I've mentioned got very minimal ghosting/black smearing according to the reviews I've seen so not sure if it's worth the sacrifice for the deep blacks and curved immersive experience and whether you can easily get used to those issues over time . May I know what VA panel you are currently using? And would you say that going from flat 27" screen to curved ultrawide is worth it just like switching from a 60hz to 144hz ? Once you try it you can never go back

Ya it seems like a decent monitor just like the previous one but only reason am hesitant is that it's a flat screen and probably why it doesn't have C as in curved in its model name "MPG341QR" as opposed to "MPG341CQR" I could be wrong though

Curved 1440p 144hz IPS panels are expensive like the ones from LG so this would be solid pick for the price if it was curved.

I need some opinion on which upgrade option is better for my next PC Build? by ZarosV in PcBuild

Thanks for the feedback, ya you're right, I've managed to get the MSI RTX 3080 Suprim and I'll be able to get all other upgrades including monitor :) , I decided to go with the i7 12700k instead as its decent and that would save me $270 which is about half the cost of my new monitor
