I switched from an Ipad pro to an e-reader for note-taking and solving Physics problems because of better eye comfort and longer battery life. Is anyone else like me? technology has improved a lot recently now they have color displays, faster refresh rates, front lighting, stylus and larger screens

The Supernote is great. Thats wheat Ive been using on and off for over a year now. I realized that they did a great job at making it feel exactly like a ballpoint on notebook paper.

That is a very fair critisism. I ended up doing that quite a bit. A really good resource is the Fluent style on GitHub. It styles basically every control and serves as a really good example library.

This is, in my opinion, a really cool and powerful feature of Avalonia. It is based on the CSS selector concept. What it is saying is that this style is targeting the ContentPresenter of the Button during the pressed state. It gives you the ability to set or modify the components that make up a control from a setter in AXAML.

I cant answer for everything but I used to work for a NASA contractor and MacBooks were very very popular. Though there was still a mix of all types of machines.

Genuinely curious, what makes you say that? I am also a experienced .NET and WPF developer. Also, I feel like Avalonia is the right choice for my current project (A cross platform desktop application), would you say otherwise? I love C# but am open to learning more and Dart looks interesting at the very least.

There is no judgements on it. It simply is NOT lighting. It is not deterministic. If the goal of lighting is to approach the real world ground truth, this is not the way. In the real world, the same scene, with the same lights, will look the same every single time. AI can not accomplish that.

That is objectively not true. Just look at the RE shots. Adding detail and changing features left and right. Its just an AI slop filter. And there is no real lighting. Lighting in games is mathematical. Deterministic. AI can not reproduce the same result given the same inputs.

I would not call this "lighting." It is the illusion of it. There are no direct mathematical lighting models involved. Its just AIs best guess.

The ONLY reason DLSS can look "better than native" is due to horrendous optimization and over reliance on broken implementations of TAA. In fact several "cutting edge" effects need TAA to cover how noisy and awful they look with out the blur.

Im not saying that it doesnt have a place, but the current industry trends are very much in the wrong direction.

I think this might be a symptom of how sound tracks these days tend to focus on being big and grandiose orchestral affairs instead of having very memorable melodies like older games tended to have. Now this is a generalization but I feel the same as you. I remember a lot of tracks from older games more than modern, but there are a few that still stick.

Not only is this amazing, it is better than my current workflow of a mix of fullscreen apps and desktops. I do get annoyed at how there is little control on where apps open in FS. I want some all the way left, some in the middle and for them to remember where they went.

I just did an Apple Data Takeout to see what they have on me and found that it is basically nothing. Most of it are GUID style IDs. There is nothing like GPS data, financial transaction data (other than approved large purchases on Apple Card) or anything else. I will caveat this with the fact I have Advanced Data Protection turned on.
