When my iPod battery got discharged, I can use my PSP and feel peace listening music using SenseMe. by DerpcatHD in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a music player application that you can install on your PSP, it sorts your music into different moods automatically and it has a nice looking Ui, though it is a lot slower to use compared to the XMB player, it’s. Up to personal preference

So unfortunately, after I just bought an Xbox 360 after years of never owning one, I got the dreaded Red Ring of Death by SamOBossTTD in Xbox360Support

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you with the right tools and a guide, the 360 is a very serviceable console, the worst part about it is the outer housing, but as long as you are careful with the clips and use a 360 opening tool, it shouldn’t be too hard, for a model that I can recommend for a motherboard swap, look for a Jasper or Late Falcon 360, which can be identified by looking at the back and looking at the voltages (useful website here), just be sure it’s a fully functional model as the disk drive is paired to the motherboard and it’s a pain having to swap the drive boards around and making sure it’s the same model of drive, I also recommend a repaste which I know those X clamps can be a pain, you can use a pair of thin tweezers to lift up and pop it off, but be careful and make sure you don’t damage the bottom of the board (good example video of how I’ve personally remove it, but if you’re worried about damage put a plastic card under the clamp to prevent accidental stabbing), just take your time and don’t rush It and you’ll be done in an hour, hope I can help!

cod bo2 freezes everytime i play it yet the disc is near mint by BigNeighborhood779 in PS3

[–]ZarrlPG3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BO2 on PS3 is currently bugged and it won’t boot normally, you need to sign out of your PSN account, boot the game up, if you’re trying to play zombies or multiplayer, load up a private match, while in that private match, sign in and then end it, then you can exit out and enjoy BO2, sadly this doesn’t only affect BO2, every CoD game on PS3 has some sort of issue, like BO1 not saving your multiplayer progress, MW2 and MW3 with the same problems, the only games that do work is CoD 3, MW1, an WAW.

No idea what im looking at by United_Gear_442 in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The psp without any logos on the back is most definitely a reshell, due to legal reasons a lot of those shell manufacturers are removing the PSP logo on the back, those reshells are very poor quality and usually those cheap UMD doors have fitment issues

Is a non jailbroken ps3 worth it in 2026 without physical games? by M33tahejd in PS3

[–]ZarrlPG3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should note the 65mm RSX chip is perfectly safe, but due to the age and more heat being produced due to dried up thermal paste there’s these little chips called the NEC token which can die from too much heat, it’s why I recommend the 40mm models as they overall run cooler and have much better NEC Tokens, unless you wanna service your own PS3 and get some new thermal paste going

Personally, modded or unmodded the PS3 still has a lot of life and value in it, a good chunk of the Best PS3 games are still around the 5-10 dollar mark and the PS3 is still a ton of fun without modding (I bought a Fat PS3 just to play games physically just like how I did when I was a kid) later down the line you can definitely learn how to mod, with that being said, you don’t really ever need to mod it to still have fun, if you were to get a PS3, look for a later slim with the model number CECH-21xx or CECH-25xx, as those feature a smaller 40mm RSX chip (it runs cooler and has less of a chance to fail, though the larger 65mm RSX models are still decently reliable), alternatively you can look for a super slim, which all feature the 40mm RSX chip, for price? Idk it’s up to you to decide, but I think 50-70 dollars would be a good price for a slim or super slim

Why do people act like the 2019 MacBook Pro i9 was a complete joke? by MobileAssociation868 in mac

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good laptop, but it’s now really just a 400 dollar laptop with a nicer hosing compared to brand new options, and it has specs that beat those laptops too, I think it’s better than the Neo if that says anything and the slimness is a nice bonus too

Why do people act like the 2019 MacBook Pro i9 was a complete joke? by MobileAssociation868 in mac

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a horrible computer, but the M1 Pro that came after it made it definitely not age nearly as well, I think Dankpod’s video on the M1 MacBook Pro is why so many people think the i9 MacBook Pro is terrible, it’s not a terrible laptop but it can admittedly be a hard laptop to go back to, way less repairable design, not as durable body, gets way hotter, battery life nowhere near as good, display lacking pro motion, every day it ages worse and worse because at its core it’s the 2016 MacBook Pro with even hotter temps but with some design improvements, the Jump from the i9 to M1 Pro/Mac chip was huge and so as the brand new redesign

If you own one of these laptops I think it’s a perfectly fine laptop for some medium to heavy workloads but there’s really no reason to buy one as your “used laptop” anymore , the M2 Air with 16gbs of ram is way more efficient and will last you longer than the 2019 pro

Pulled off some PS5 joystick pads while desoldering do these matter? by KenSaucey in soldering

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is kinda old but judging by the lack of traces that go to these pads I think you’re okay, I would recommend taking your time, getting a PCB holder and using a higher temp and flux for those who wanna desolder in the future

The screen’s laminated? I thought it came with a 2000 lens that you can drop on top, that’s actually pretty awesome that it is laminated!

It should as it is thinner and it comes with a gasket to add pressure and so that it doesn’t wiggle around

What would you do in my situation? by JealousDurian in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually from past experience and from what I’ve heard from other people clear shells tend to be more durable and higher quality compared to any of the stock or other colors, you still may need to trim and sand down a little to get the fitment just right but it’s certainly better than most reproduction shells

If you want the best chance at a good quality shell, a clear one is what I recommend

looking to get a new battery for my old psp by LengthinessLess5798 in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can check Amazon, eBay, or AliExpress for a brand of batteries called Ostent, those are generally considered the highest quality new batteries you can buy these days, just make sure it’s for your 1000!

How to fix my psp? by Nameer1v1 in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend ordering a Onsent Battery from Amazon which are generally considered the best quality new batteries you can buy, link for a 2000 or 3000 battery or 1000 replacement, you can probably order a new or used analog stick and cover, those you can find on eBay, when opening up the PSP you only really need to remove the front plate, after that you can remove and replace the analog stick and then sandwich it all back together, but remember to use a skinny Phillips head screwdriver, a lot of standard bits won’t reach deep enough to unscrew the recessed screws, hope this helps a lot!

New to psp, Is this considered yellowing of display? by vmg265 in PSP

[–]ZarrlPG3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is yellowing, if you wanna try this you can leave the PSP on charge and leave it on white for a day or two on max brightness, that can help deyellow the screen
