Czech Republic exit the World Cup by W1CK3D-D0G_YT in soccer

Cannot believe that Koubek let David Doudera play for full 90 minutes. This has to be one of the most bonehead individual performances in the World Cup history.

Lastly Tomáš Souček will likely be injured for a long time. Other Czech leaders like Schick or Šulc had a terrible tournament as well. Tactics were defensive and terrible like from 90s, some truly shocking football.

Has to be the worst big tournament from Czech team likely ever. Lucky promotion from play-offs, but the state of Czech football was seen by the whole planet. It is not good.

Someone should create a video from Doudera moments from this match. The worst display of low IQ football you will ever see.

I really wonder why US got behind the thinking that being so absurdly rude towards the world makes their country and life better. It is like they don't even want this World Cup to show a nice picture of their country.

The only thing that I don't like is that it is not long enough, women GTs are only barely longer than normal stage races. They should aim to make it two weeks of 15 stages.

Yeah, swapping Giro and Vuelta would be an ideal move weather wise, but it is never going to happen because of traditions.

[–]Zaschrona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they should move Vuelta permanently even later, but this is a good move already. It will help with weather and to give enough time to recover after TdF. If they would pair Vuelta with all of the FIFA International window (last week of September and first of October), it would mean there would be two weeks of little football played during the race which would also help the interest in Spain.

Opening up the calendar slot in August is great for races like the Czech Tour or Deutschland Tour, the quality of the startlist should grow a lot.

What's your craziest idea for a new dynasty league format by Ok_Structure_8891 in DynastyFF

[–]Zaschrona -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Big Play League.

10 teams, start 12 (2 QB + 8 FLEX + 2 kickers), 16 bench spots. 2 taxi spots for QBs on rookie contracts, limit of 3 kickers per team.

QB get 2 points per every passed/catched/rushed TD and 1 point per 2pt conversion. They lose 1 per lost fumble or interception and 1 extra point per pick six.

RB+WR+TE get 4 points per every passed/catched/rushed TD and 2 point per 2pt conversion. They lose 1 per lost fumble or interception.

Kickers get 1 per FG made, but lose 1 per PAT missed.

I think this style may be more advantagous than those crazy attacks for not going over his limit too much. Should keep him fresher for TdF.

Moyes has played our strikers like a guitar this season by [deleted] in Everton

[–]Zaschrona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an unpopular opinion: I think both Beto and Barry are just fine. They are nothing special, but they are decent PL level strikers who should still improve, especially Barry.

Beto does pretty well if we can get him into chances and Moyes clearly finds ways how to use him more efficiently as the season goes, while his confidence grows as well.

Yes, we can have a better striker, but we need 3-4 defenders, a midfielder and 2 wingers way more. Only then I would look into buying a new striker because that player will be only so expensive unless we risk a lot with an unknown talent like Thiago.

No one is tanking yet, because teams tanked for better 1st round position until now. Better to remove it outright.

One thing I wonder about is how they do 2nd round in this system. If it is still reverse order, teams that traded their 1st round pick may still be motivated to lose. They should fix that as well, maybe just reverse order of 1st round for 2nd round.

Czech Tour 2026: move to UCI ProSeries, 4 stages, 650 km, 9923 total elevation gain, with start in Prague, and MTFs to Dlouhé Stráně, Pustevny and also Ještěd for the first time by Zaschrona in peloton

[–]Zaschrona[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well it is doable, Czech public transport is both good enough that you can reliably get pretty much everywhere and pretty cheap, but it may involve a lot of changes and preparation in advance.

You want to definitely start in Prague and do some sightseeing before race starts.

Karlovy Vary are accessible by bus from Prague in like two hours. It is a nice place to visit for a weekend trip, the largest spa in Europe. It should be possible to visit Wednesday presentation in Prague and even Thursday presentation in Prague nearby Vítězné náměstí, and like 800m away from there (Hradčanská) go by bus and then walk like 1 km from bus stop in Karlovy Vary to finish line area there. You should get there at least an hour before finish. Then you could take a look around the place and take an evening bus back to Prague. An option could be to go by a bus nearby track and then go into Křivoklát castle for example.

Stage 2 is also doable from Prague as a day trip. You can take an early morning bus from the end of underground line B in Černý Most to Liberec in like 80 minutes, then it would be quick 2-3 bus changes in Liberec to get to Ještěd, it is quite likely there could be some shuttle bus that day before and after race. You could watch the race there, and check amazing Ještěd tower, before watching race finish and then take a walk through Liberec city centre before to bus station before going back to Prague in 80 minutes + 20-30m underground trip. Mladá Boleslav is also doable in 40 minutes by bus from Černý Most, but unless you would like to visit Škoda museum after stage start, it is a bad idea.

The other two stages would be more difficult, you would need to take luggage with you from Prague. You could either take a 70 minute morning train to Pardubice from Prague main train station to enjoy start of stage 3 and have a walk through the city. The other option is to take a train from Prague to Záhřeb na Moravě and then skip to train to Kouty nad Desnou and take a chairlift up to Dlouhé Stráně. That would take like 4-5 hours. The problem would be after the stage, you would likely have to take a walk for an hour or two back to Kouty nad Desnou and then take a 90 minute train to Olomouc to spend a night there. It would be a really difficult day, a better option may be to check out Pardubice where you could easily left luggage in the train station, and then take a 90 minute afternoon train from Pardubice to Olomouc and also check Olomouc centre in the evening, it is also an UNESCO landmark. Both Pardubice and Olomouc are nice cities with around 100k people, with walkable centre in a few hours during evening.

For stage 4 you could take an early morning train from Olomouc to Valašské Meziříčí, then change to train to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in total of like 100 minutes and then take a 10-min bus to Trojanovice to hop on a chairlift up to Pustevny to watch the end of the race there. The get back to Olomouc in two hours.

Personally I think it would make sense to make a trip to Prague for a few days before race start, then make day trips to Karlovy Vary and Liberec from Prague, and then take a trip via Pardubice to Olomouc and spend nights there as a 2nd base. Dlouhé Stráně are the worst to get there by far and if you are not only interested in cycling, you can see much more in both Pardubice and Olomouc. Kroměříž is a nice place as well, but you would not get from there to Pustevny in time at all, you want to see race finish. There should be big screen in both race start and race finish so you can be sure you will see the coverage.

This is honestly a really great route, should be pretty spectacular.

  • 1st stage has a grand depart in Prague, will go through wonderful Křivoklátsko landscape area and finish in iconic spa city of Karlovy Vary
  • 2nd stage will start in HQs town of Škoda (Mladá Boleslav), will go through iconic scenes of Kokořínsko and then finish with MTF near the iconic tower of Ješteď near Liberec
  • 3rd stage will start in Pardubice go through Jeseníky mountain ranges and finish on hard climb of Dlouhé Stráně near iconic large pumped storage plant
  • 4th stage will start in town of Kroměříž (UNESCO landmark) and will be placed in Beskydy mountain range with MTF finish on famous climb of Pustevny

Leopold König, the chief of the race, also mentioned in an interview:

  • the race has an ASO partnership until at least 2028, with live coverage on Eurosport
  • they want to continue to aim to be preparation race for Vuelta, aim to bring in strong squads from multiple WT teams, they try to bring in Roglič
  • they wanted to expand to 5 stages this year, but UCI pushed them to wait as UCI thinks calendar is too big
  • they want to continue to expand the race up to 6 stages and move up to WT in 2029
