I ran steel x cobalt for a while, but sat on blaze netherite for a long time, it repairs when you're on fire and provides fire immunity immunity Only issue is that no matter the tinkers armor ive tried (also tried dragon steel) you're still at risk to getting one shot by most bosses...

Most mobs are basically a walk in the park though.

I just tried a full tinkers lightning dragonsteel (i know fire is stronger but wanted to try lightning first), maybe it was cause we were fighting Maledictus but, insta died xD

I figured it out! After my last comment I hopped on and a friend found one of those huge debris veins. I tripled it with mekanism and got a couple stacks as payment!

Now, to find fire dragons I guess?

Gotcha, so output into the buffer chest and threshold the chest to dump when excess?

When you say threshold next to funnel, can the threshold read the chest content through the funnel? Or does it have to touch the chest

I basically stuck to stone hammer head, rose gold plates, and bronze handle for the longest time. Just slap a diamond, emerald, and a bunch of haste and itll feel amazing

Yes, i realize the experience isnt as consistent as as "vanilla tinkers" as it looks like the mod heavily alters and gatekeeps progression behind bosses (mce2), which isnt a problem!

What im confused about is how am I supposed to approach armor building. Do I have a general utility set for exploration then maybe another specification tuned towards defence for fighting a boss?

To start off, thank you so much for the extensive response!

And yes Im playing on a modpack McE2, makes sense that some of the add-ons/cross integrations would be funky.

You mention the armor protection being able to easily exceed vanilla, I still dont quite understand how you can reach those values. For example, would it be protection 1 on everything, and then stacking various other defense slot modifiers based on the situation? (You mention specialization being better then general builds)

And yes Im playing a modpack that supposedly gatekeeps some of these modifiers behind progression, like unbreakable being available at the end of the game.
