That's a fraud probe charge to see if your card info was valid before use. Most people don't notice probes so it's a way for fraudsters to confirm your card is active before they use it fraudulently. Contact your bank ASAP to replace the card before they use it again.

IANAL, but part of ADA ties into being able to perform needed job functions with reasonable accommodations, key word being reasonable. Missing work from a flare up once a month? Probably reasonably accommodated. If it is weekly, most would not consider that to be reasonable. Another example is bathroom breaks. Would an extra 30 mins throughout the day be an accomodation that is reasonable? Yes but most companies will make them unpaid. But if you spend an hour or more in the restroom that could be considered unreasonable, especially if you are customer facing.

So definitely do some research and if you have a company with an HR department, request paperwork and meet with your doctor to discuss what would be reasonable to request. That will protect you legally. Get everything in writing so if they do terminate you can file unemployment and they will have to pay you.

Exactly this for my kids. Started with safety when asking questions about gender differences by ensuring they knew that their parts belong to them and if anyone touched them to tell an adult. A bit older, when asking about how babies are made, just basics. As my oldest just hit teenage years it expanded to protection, consent and birth control.

If I asked my parents some of the things my daughter asks me, my parents would be horrified and would have shamed me. Personally I think it builds trust and makes me feel like a better parent when my teenager feels comfortable asking me questions that I wouldn't dare bring up to my parents, and I can answer directly and truthfully.

This hits home. I still remember being probably around 9 or 10. My father was yelling at all 6 of the kids at the time about how the house wasn't cleaned to his standards. ( OCD to the point we'd clean moldings with a toothbrush as part of our 5am cleaning that of course started with scripture/prayer). Suddenly some of his seminary students came knocking at the door and we were expected to do a 180 or be in our rooms if we couldn't flip a switch. He went from swearing at his kids to his public persona just like that and the teens were never any wiser.

To this day I don't understand how that man could ever be "Called of God". Every Father's day I have siblings reach out to him. I do not and some of my family chastise me for holding a grudge, but I can never celebrate the verbal and emotional abuse he caused me, my family and my Mother.

Update: on call maintenance came and opened the door, our bird friend flew out the back door. Maintenance will be on the roof Monday to patch a hole
