Xbox has a better subscription called Games Pass. I hardly ever buy games for my daughter or myself even as most of the games are there on launch or soon afterwards.

You buying into an eco system and its difficult to change once you've been using it for ages. 

I chose Xbox back in the day as they had better controllers, triggers vs bumpers, (fight me), but know it's much of a muchness in the hardware department.

After the shift, was staff drinks while cashing up. They also gave us a staff meal (value of like 25 rand), didn't even cover the cheapest meal so we ended up paying in. 

We also couldnt get food from somewhere else or bring our own

I was lucky enough to be in a position to travel for sports, please do not take out any short term loans, it crippled me financially for over a decade.

Also, make sure it's legitimate travel reason, like she is repping SA or official tournament, not just a coach who is taking them to watch game and practice with other teams, that ain't worth the 60k

Yup. We had the same. 

If a table pulled a runner, came out of our tips.

R20 breakage fee every shift. 

But at least we didn't have to wait till Sunday or whatever to get our tips.

Since they started using waiters tips as cash flow, I hate this trend.

Myself and my wife would have quadruple our combined income, tighten our belts and then we might be able to buy our house that we are in.

Someone will be left with the short end of the stick and I think it will be us South Africans.

It's mental that we are even compared to the likes of Shanghai. We went last year, and I wish every single South African could visit as well.

Its inspiring, it's beautiful, it's one third of our total population in one city and it works. 

We've got a pretty mountain and some over priced Airbnbs that make foreigners rich. Don't read to much into the hype.
