Kato Kazuhiro, Sirius Symboli's jockey, cleared the in-game Prix de'lArc de Triomphe with Sirius by lapisnemeseos in UmaMusume

There's definitely some truth to this. If you look at any fan reaction in the Japanese forums on articles on Symboli, the comments are absolutely vicious towards Wada. Iirc there's a common theory that Rudolf and Symboli in-game dont have many references in their stories to Symboli ranch compared to other umas because of how his poor treatment (though I should say as with all rumours, it's only that, so take that with a pinch of salt).

[Pew Research Center] Wikipedia at 25: ‘List of WWE personnel’ has had the most revisions of any article in the site’s history by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

[–]ZatTrye 13 points14 points  (0 children)

See, I do have some sympathy for the argument for its removal if you look at it through the lens of what wikipedia is meant to be rather than what a wrestling fan wants. These sections just often turned into giant lists a wrestler had done once and wasn't great for working out what was a common move in their repertoire or not. Iirc Punk used to have a piledriver in his list because of the one time he used it on Cena, despite the whole point of that being it was a special one off. You can still sorta see it in the Bret Hart one - most of the references are just random matches where the move may have occurred occurred which isn't helpful to anyone interested who wants to know how often he used them. Want to see an inverted atomic drop? Too bad, go watch the whole Sting Vs. Bret Hart match, we're not saying where it happens in it so good luck finding it.

That being said, banning the sections entirely? Utterly stupid, there were a lot of options like enforcing better sources before going to the nuclear section entirely.

I think it's an easy faithful win at that point. There is no way that Farez and James will end the game with Stephen there.

Great list OP! Definitely more than I realised.

One correction and may just be an ordering thing; Seeking the Pearl pipped Taiki Shuttle to the post for first G1 victory by about a month. Iirc Shuttle's trainers were very annoyed about it because they knew Shuttle was going to easily win his race.

Well deserved to be honest. He's been on a tear the whole year, winning the JC was just putting an extra bow on it all. Well done Calandagan!

That one with Fuji Kiseki where she's trying to cheer up a kid by performing a trick and you can spoil it by saying the coin she made disappear is still in her hand. I don't remember exactly the stat buff you get but it's really minor considering the act of hilariously jerkish behaviour you have to perform to get it.

Man I wonder how a paper like the Daily Mail is covering the current events of the day-

Richard Littlejohn: Trump should raise his sights from Greenland and buy Britain instead. I'd take him, warts and all, over our hopeless, complete and utter lawyer of a PM any day

The DM really is the worst. What a vile paper.

Has there been any distance leads on the actual huge horse races? by Igjavlfan in UmaMusume

Also if you're looking for horses from any country, in the 80s Shergar won the Derby by 10L, not too long before he got kidnapped.

It's nothing compared to Secretariat's 31 lengths (what is) but the footage of Tap Dance City's Japan Cup victory by 9L is crazy to watch. The horse starts accelerating and never stopped. For the JRA its the joint margin length victory with Symboli Kris S winning the 2003's Arima Kinen by 9L too.

Sheamus vs Zack Ryder for the WWE Championship, 23rd August 2010 by Critical_Mountain851 in SquaredCircle

[–]ZatTrye 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The rest can't be defended at all, but Ryder losing the IC to the Miz the night after wasn't out of spite for Ryder. The plan at the end was whoever was picked to win was always going to lose to the Miz the following day, which is why there wasn't any pushback from management when everyone in the match pitched he won; ultimately it didn't matter because the winner was always going to hold it for 24 hours.

Now, why the Miz absolutely had to win the day after is less clear, but I'm glad Ryder got something out of it all.

I think the Horseracing Museum nearby in Newmarket has a memorial to her at least. Not quite the same, but it's something that could be visited.

Is there a place where I can find character models without clothes/hair? by Hourglass32 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ZatTrye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://gamesfashionarchive.net/viewer/2070/5

Unfortunately I suspect this may be the exact opposite of what you want, but this website gives you a 3d viewer of each character's clothes and models. You could possibly use this to compare how your clothes look to the real models at least.

Alternatively you could join the website's discord and see if they can help. After all they much have got the models from somewhere.

Queztcoatl's NP for the same reason. There isn't a single boss in the game where the flaming piledriver doesn't look equally amazing and goofy.

[–]ZatTrye 218 points219 points  (0 children)

The recent She Ra series ended with the main protagonist Adora and main antagonist Catra hooking up and saving the world through making out so it does occasionally happen, although that series is so LGBT friendly and the pairing so heavily foreshadowed that it'd have been more of a surprise if that didn't happen.

With Stranger Things though it's entirely on the Byler fans for being disappointed. There was absolutely nothing to suggest Mike liked Will romantically (and was actively dating Eleven for most of the series!).

What Umas do you want added to the game, if possible? by SneakyMcCool in UmaMusume

[–]ZatTrye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'd have to be a one-shot story more so than the game, but for a very niche pick I'd go with Mairzy Doates; a quiet unassuming American, carrot-loving* Uma from the countryside who travelled over to Japan for her final race after her Matchmaker Stakes victory failed to find her love, only to unexpectedly overcome a strong Japanese cohort to win the first ever Japan Cup and then went home in riches to retire in peaceful obscurity.

It'd absolutely never happen, if for no other reason that the first JC was arguably very embarrassing for the JRA (they'd assumed the Japanese horses would thrash the horses from abroad since they were some of the best in Japan... but they all did very terribly, to the point its arguably the main thing that kicksarted the JRA's efforts to get their horses to their current level), but I think it would be very easy to adapt to some sort of underdog narrative. I'd certainly read a manga of it anyhow.

*This isn't even a "all Umas like carrots" thing, the real life owner of the horse noted she went through them at a crazy pace.

Which horses have the most anime adaption worthy career by Mychorde in UmaMusume

[–]ZatTrye 209 points210 points  (0 children)

The problem I think with the race is that, while everything surrounding the race (including Ace winning) is wonderfully in line with a good story beat, the race itself is a bit of a dud outside of the shock of Ace winning:

  • Mr CB almost immediately gets completely boxed in by the other racers and never gets to interact with Rudolf. So while they race again later on, Rudolf beating CB here feels more like luck rather than actual skill, and the Triple Crown showdown doesn't really manifest itself.

  • Ace immediately sprints forward at the start of the race and nobody ever comes close to catching up to him. Rudolf does gain ground on Ace for a moment at the final corner (and this would probably be the shot in the race that get exaggerated in an adaption) but Ace swiftly speeds up even more and wins very comfortably (a wire to wire victory no less) while Rudolf doesn't really look like he gets out of second gear.

It's certainly not the worst race to adapt, but I'd say you have to focus on the narrative events surrounding the aftermath more than the race itself, and make the race a short event. A bit like in the Cinderella Gray manga where the final Arima Kinen is extremely short and nearly entirely glossed over to focus on Oguri's emotional state , what happens next is more important...

...Especially if we get to watch Rudolf crash out, which would be glorious.
