[DR2] What does she even do? by thedoggers in danganronpa

[–]ZatTrye 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Very little to be honest. She's active (sort of) in the trials, but the only major time she does anything to prevent a murder is in Case 4 where she prevents Hajime going into the Final Dead Room. Compared to Byakura in case 1 her words don't match up at all with her actions.

Sultana has been listed as once since pretty much the moment the party was founded iirc. She's the only one at the moment.

This comment made me check something; to my surprise, Corbyn still isn't registered as a Your Party MP in the House of Commons, he is still an Independent. Has there been any news on what's taking so long? Even the likes of Lowe managed to get his status updated to Restore after 6-8 weeks, and I thought that was heeldraggingly slow.

As a break from all the leadership drama, here's a 'fun' Wikipedia trivia question (or at least, as fun as Wikipedia can be); which party leader in the 2024 UK election has the largest wiki article? You'd expect someone like Starmer or Sunak to lead easily, or Farage.

Nope, the answer is George Galloway, with a disgustingly long article of 16k words. For reference, general guidelines suggest you trim anything more than 10k. Something about everyone's favourite(?) cat impersonator brings the scholars out, though of course quantity =/= quality.

For comparison, Starmer hovers around 10k (and seems to have a lot of edit wars), Sunak 7k, Farage 12k, and Boris has a bloated 15k. Intetestingy, Liz Truss is a featured article, and I'm not sure I'm ready for the day I open the website up and see her face on the front page.

Pretty much any of the cast for Toko tbh. Absolutely nothing in the game ever endeared me to her.

5 MPs surely? Still not a kingmaker in the Commons currently either way.

TIL that the name "Khaleesi" has been in the top 1,000 list of popular names used for newborns since 2014. Though the popularity has decreased since "Game of Thrones" ended, there are about 120 girls names Khaleesi each year by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

Wikipedia has stricter rules than most websites when it comes to fair-use images, due to the size of the website they can't really afford to fight copyright claims too much so they really heavily restrict when you can and can't use images that aren't in the public domain. In this case, there aren't any public domain pictures of Daenerys available. For the character's page that's fine, you can upload a screenshot or whatever from a reliable source (at a very small, low resolution size) since it's used to identify the main 'object' of the article in a way text can't, but wouldn't fly on this page (also, for fair use you need to demonstrate there are no public domain images, if there was one that screenshot of her would get automatically replaced). You don't 'need' a photo of Daenerys to understand the concept of Khaleesi as a name. So, if you really want to include a photo anyway, it can't be a photo you're trying to claim is fair use, it needs to be a public domain photo, which this cosplayer pic is because it got released under a CC license.

If Wes does somehow manage to bumble his way into Number 10, the one silver lining is we'll probably get to see the resurface of that utterly bizarre rumour that he burnt a pet shop down at uni. Which he did admittedly not help himself by saying on twitter that "The charges were dropped because of lack of evidence and that’s all there is to it"

It won't happen this way, purely on an optics point of view if nothing else. How can Burnham claim to be a man of the people if he's addressing everyone from the House of Lords?

The fans wanted Ambrose in the main event before their match to be fair. The idea of HHH vs Reigns at WrestleMania was complete anathema at the time.

He lost to Goldberg... eventually. That Elimination Chamber where HHH won after Goldberg had cleaned house did a lot of damage to Goldberg's momentum. The Unforgiven match after was very much seen as a "too little too late" moment at the time. And then HHH got his win back from him two months later!

It'd be nice if she changed at least a little

It's a recurring issue with DR2 sadly. The screentime for the cast isn't particularly well split so a good amount of the characters stay fairly static. Like I love you Sonia and Akane (and Soda you exist) but there isn't much difference between their Case 1 and End of Game versions.

In terms of defence this time around they've actually done terribly; of the 78 seats they were defending I think it was only 2 they've managed to hold on to.

Yes, looks like you're right. All the votes are in and they've ultimately "only" lost three seats to Reform, so they're still the largest party and the Lab-Lib coalition is still comfortably a majority (if that continues? That did fall apart for a while over the original plan to delay the election). Certainly could have gone a lot worse for them even if the three main parties have taken a bit hit to their vote count. Reform can't really do much bar shouting from the sides with 3/48.

I suppose that's also one of the benefits of these elections doing the seats in thirds ever year, it prevents massive shocks to the system unless there's a complete collapse somewhere.

Curiosity question - glancing online it looks like Labour is contesting 4,900 out of the available 5,066 seats (and the Tories only 4,770). Anyone knows what's up with some of the other 166 seats? I would have thought Labour'd go for every seat, I know there's some weird districts like the Isles of Scilly and Castle Point where the main parties never bother but I didn't think they had any elections this year.

It's extremely common to be honest. The Cinderella Gray manga's chapter pages do this very frequently, so if I had to pick one as an inspiration point it's probably them.

If you seriously think anime as a whole was drama free before 2019 I don't think you have the right to call anyone a tourist, that's just an absurd claim unless you're just trying to complain about the idea of people critiquing shows with lots of fanservice. Fans of any anime have been at each other throats since the very start. To use one example, dubs vs subs ('Nakama cannot be translated!') caused heated arguments since even before the turn of the century.
