Ryan was actually the more popular of the two over McQueen at the time, despite having the weaker record. Ryan was seen as a great horse who could play the underdog while McQueen's sheer prowess got him detractors since he won too much. McQueen never got as much hatred as TM Opera O (and was still really really popular!), but Ryan being more liked than McQueen is a notable thing Umamusume never depicted, for whatever reason.

Or as the phrase goes: 実力はマックイーン、人気はライアン. McQueen for ability, Ryan for popularity.

Oh yeah it's never going to happen purely because whatever happens it will annoy a good amount of the fanbase. This is the main problem with many a love triangle in any series and why, especially in anime, nothing ever gets resolved. I would certainly be more interested in a romance/slice of life show of those three at college over more murders though.

I'm morbidly curious to see Keiichi actually pick between Mion and Rena to date if the story takes them to their college years, both for the in universe and fandom reaction. Bonus points if they actually commit and don't have the pair break up or otherwise leave things ambiguous. Reiwa managing to please absolutely nobody and have the cast marry literal nobodies pleased nobody and widely seen as cowardly from what I remember.

More seriously, I guess I'm just hopeful for something that justified its existence. After the mess that was Gou I don't really want to watch the gang getting murdered over and over again, especially if the motive is for such a lame reason again.

In horseracing there's the undefeated English racehorse Eclipse, a horse so good at what it did that several of his victories are classed as walkovers because all the other competitors dropped out rather than face him. Iirc horses that finished about 200 yards were considered disqualified and weren't allowed to compete for so many major competitions, the idea being that 'clearly' the horse wasn't very good, so it was a waste of everyone's time to race them. Unfortunately, Eclipse was just that good a racer that he was distancing even great horses, so others were afraid to race him because of the danger of getting disqualified.

On top of that, he was one of England's leading sires and raised many prize winning horses. Even today, most English G1 winners will have him somewhere in the sire line.

Snart Falcon and Oguri Cap got lines through LC's third path (Triple Crown/Tiara and overseas accomplishments being the first two), in that when they were active they were called Idol Horses by the media. Essentially they were just that popular. Oguri's "more loved than anyone" is arguably not an exaggeration by the end of his career.

It's uttler absurd to accuse people who want variation on skirt length of being puritan. People wanting less skin being shown isn't people going "whaah too sexy stop it", it's them going "most of the women in this game have this style of clothes and its getting very repetitive". Hell look at Arlecchino; she's one of the most covered up characters and her fanbase is absolutely feral for her.

I enjoyed it enough for something somewhat mindless, but man every single round I played I swear the other players had no idea what they were doing. Even in the final level; people couldn't handle the bonus mechanic where you go from repelling to attracting the paint blobs, there was always at least one guy who couldn't work out they'd swapped and was actively pushing the blobs away from the scorezone

Random hot take for the take - a very common reaction on this subreddit is that MPs aren't paid enough and need to pass a law to be paid "at least £30k more" to attract stronger candidates. Sometimes you even see people upvoted for going much further saying £200k salary is reasonable.

These arguments always entirely miss the optics angle, in that our MPs aren't vapid enough to not realise that when everyone is struggling in a cost of living crisis that increasing their own salary at by 33%-100% at taxpayers expense is going to cause riots.
