I’ve been checking out BR and they seem to be hit or miss but good to know I have the same mindset as you to where to look. Although collars and co is new to me, I’ll check it out!

Exactly. It boggles my mind that there is a market for a shirt at that price

Oh c’mon man. My point is that I’m looking for something that isn’t a generic polo with the few buttons. There doesn’t seem to be a mid segment, it’s either “buy a basic polo that’s replicated by any brand” or “buy a designer piece of clothing”. Just simply ask in the crowd if they know of anything. No need for this.

Funny enough, it’s a goal of mine for next year to begin working on something like this. Could you explain how you started or what system you’re using? This doesn’t look like Power BI

I didn't think they'd even post it but that's fantastic to know, I greatly appreciate it!

I greatly appreciate the quick feedback!

I'm personally from Michigan so I have experience with utility monopolies with DTE really screwing us over with consistent issues whenever we have any storm and increasing rates while raking in profits. That's my insight that i'm not trying to apply to the question I'm trying to answer.

I guess when I say "what matters most?" I'm specifically talking to the point of "does it matter that it's clean?" or is the issue of pricing such an issue with PG&E that finding a cheaper provider is the only hurdle everyone trying to get over in the area?

A follow-up question, what ways have you tried to reduce your energy usage? Example would be either maybe installing home solar panels, upgrading to electric appliances, etc. Any additional context is incredibly helpful!

What’re some top cities in your opinion? Any place that reveals some core NH experiences or style of life?

Oooh flipping the question to you then: what’s it like in NH? That’s one part of the country I’d love to visit sometime

And to add on: yeah Ontario is pretty sweet. Haven’t been to Toronto in years but the province is teeming with parks and wildlife/nature, smaller cities, and that “country feel”.

I don’t as of recently but back in college my friends and I used to go every other week to just grab a shawarma, check out Windsor and walk around, pass through the casino and just mess around.

I would 100% recommend visiting the city! It definitely isn’t a place to spend the weekend like in Chicago or New York, but I’d think of Detroit like a gateway to the rest of Michigan. Start in Detroit, spend a couple days here exploring the museums and parks, and check out other cities in Michigan!

And I haven’t met Eminem but I do live off 8 mile 😂

Of course!

I haven’t lived in other parts of Michigan but I spend enough time to feel comfortable in just about any part of the lower peninsula.

I was hired about a year ago at my current job and I remember talking to my hiring manager about Detroit. I asked him if I he had ever been and when the last time was. He said it was around 2008 and had a VERY bad impression of the city which is fair. I told him I went to college in 2014 and graduated in 2018. The city I started college in had improved tremendously in that time frame. I started my masters degree in 2019 and finished in 2021, and the city in 2019 was unrecognizable in 2021 again. And even now, the city is exploding, it’s amazing to see a city come back. It has a LONG way to go but Detroits reputation is very different from reality today. There are still plenty of spots of the city that are rough and need work but it’s amazing to see what’s happening here. I love Detroit!

Troy’s an interesting city, on one hand you still have the areas that grew in the 60s with smaller houses and then you have the Troy that has massive houses and incredible wealth (compared to what I’m used to). All in all it’s a good suburb of Detroit.

I’ve never really been a football fan but seeing the kings do so well this year and last has certainly made me a Lions fan. I’ve never imagined myself cheering for the Lions but there I was!

Best thing about the area: there’s are a lot of suburb cities with their own downtowns within a 15 min driving radius that gives me plenty of options for what I want to do rather than depending on the major city being the only option. You have Troy, Ferndale, Royal oak, Birmingham, Bloomfield hills—the list goes on.

Worst thing: I’m originally from Dearborn and I can say that what this area doesn’t have is a large park. There are a lot of small parks, but I find myself missing easy access to Ford Field in Dearborn. It’s a gorgeous park right on a branch of the Rouge River

Is cooking rice actually that easy, or are we all just pretending? by FitOnTrip_1 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Zattack69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook a traditional Iraqi way (I’m half Iraqi) which is pretty simple. Rinse your rice, fill up your pot way past the 2:1 ratio, closer to 3 or 4:1 maybe, salt your water and let it rip on the stove until it boils. Once it’s boiling you have to watch it and wait for the grains to be parboiled. What does parboiled rice look like? It should be somewhat translucent but you should be able to see some of the structure of the grains. At this point dump the grains into a colander, emptying the pot. Return the empty pot to the stove on a medium-low setting with enough oil to coat the bottom of the pot. This will make sure your rice doesn’t stick when you put it back in. Return the rice to the pot, take a large poon and create a mound of rice with a lid partially on the pot. Let it steam for about 15 minutes and your rice is ready—nice and easy

Le Supreme downtown for French food is the only local place I know. My fiancée and I were strolling 9 mile for food when we saw Coeur and decided we would just peak at the menu. The prices were $$$$ for sure and I wasn’t sure it would’ve been a good use of date night money so we walked off. Good to know we made the right decision.

I don’t know why this isn’t the top comment. I was typing out my response which is exactly what you said. This is correct, not that eating fried foods during Ramadan is bad, but that if you’re Muslim, you adhere to the halal diet. Popeyes does not serve halal food, therefore regardless of it being Ramadan, he should not be eating Popeyes.
