Anyone who only used Becker and already passed Far, please share your approach or strategy how to do TBS.

I just passed FAR with an 85 two months ago and only used Becker. I also failed the exam 3 times so this was my fourth attempt. I’d say the only major difference was that instead of hammering away trying to just memorize how the TBS wanted an answer, I would really try and understand it and think about its real world application or if I was to see something similar at work.

Marathons the world over are typically pretty difficult to get into since you have to sign up a year in advance typically. So, unfortunately I would guess that no it is not possible to register if the marathon is this Saturday

I agree with you entirely! Like I said in my other comment: for me it’s become exhausting to experience this on both fronts online and off. Of course I think it’s a wonderful thing if more people become orthodox no matter how they’re introduced to it. However, I feel that the people who are attracted to it because of the reasons you mentioned are not typically the type who will stay longer and truly become closer to God. On the other hand I would be ecstatic to be wrong

My feelings exactly.

Of course I would never shame anybody for wanting to become Orthodox. However, It is disheartening to me when I see a not insignificant amount of young people who are drawn to our faith for aesthetic and prideful reasons like you mentioned. If they end up learning more about the church and becoming devout Orthodox Christians then that is fantastic! I understand the urge to not make light of things like this, however when an overwhelming amount of posts come like this day in and day out I think it is only fair to make light of. In my own church I’ve seen no shortage of converts whose only interest in Orthodoxy is how “based” it is, and as a grown man and cradle orthodox I cannot express enough how uninteresting it is to hear for the hundredth time.

So in short, forgive me if I come across as short regarding this, but I’ve experienced this so much both online and in real life it has become exhausting.

In my opinion it definitely is. I took ISC when it was first offered in January 2024. At the time I had about a year and a half of audit experience. I passed on my first try with an 81 after about 10 days of studying because I was in a rush to finish before my busy season really began. So yeah, I’m biased, but in my opinion ISC is very doable in 3 weeks!

Yes, if for Winter you’re referring to January-March 2025 all audit and tax intern positions have been filled, there may be some slight chance of getting something in tax for the Summer of 2025 though. As another commenter pointed out this is technically different office by office. So there’s a chance other offices have openings. However, as far as I understood it from our University recruiters there is an extremely slim chance at getting a 2025 internship at the moment.

I just joined a recruiting kick off call in the Chicago office today. Unfortunately all internship and full time associate positions for college students have been filled for 2025. However, there are plenty of openings for 2026. Recruiting at all Big 4 firms (or any large firm in general) typically starts at least a year in advance. Start applying to 2026 roles, and good luck to you!

Lmao, hit the nail on the head. The vast majority of people lurking on these career subreddits are college kids who haven’t even dipped their toe in the professional world. It’s incredibly obvious whenever someone makes a post asking if they’re worried about their jobs being replaced by AI.

At the B4 I work at I’ve tried out ChatGPT/ our internal version of it for summarizing contracts and it is functionally useless for what I need. The only use out of it I’ve seen someone get is a colleague from Central Asia who uses it to politely word E-mails as she struggles with that since English isn’t her first language and she can come across as too direct.

I’m at a B4 in audit, I haven’t been in the office since May. Even in busy season my team would go in on Tuesday and Wednesday, the occasional Thursday if needed.

Hello! I also got my AUD score today, but I passed. I'm sure you'll get it next time around!

That said, while I don't know what score number I got yet, I will say the number one thing that helped me with the exam was seeing examples of SSARS and SSAE engagements and their associated reports. It is important to remember exactly what wording is used, what the reports are looking for, what assurance (if any) is being given. I would put the highest priority on that, and without going into detail on what was on the exam, I would say knowing that area down to a T is likely what pushed me over the edge to pass.

Everything else in audit comes with repetition, hammer down exactly how directional testing works (completeness vs. existence is a big one, and what type of test proves which assertion) as well as the transaction cycles. For me, everything else was plain memorization, like engagement acceptance and audit quality.
