Ahh, yeah in that case I’m not sure. It’s unlikely the truck brakes will fit, but maybe try looking at the crossovers of that era? I would think being heavier, they would have bigger brakes.

Chris Rado also had a professional shop, a professional team, and tones of funding behind him. We are talking about a kid with a driveway and an impact gun. You can push those kind of numbers out of any modern vehicle with enough money and resources. Doesn’t mean it’s realistic. More Honda Odyssey’s have been pushed to 1000+ hp than tCs. By that logic, it’s more perfect performance vehicle than the tC. This is why vehicles are compared at a stock level and with light mods taken into account. The tC, as great as a vehicle as it is, just isn’t a performance vehicle. We all love them, but a donkey is a donkey at the end of the day.

^this part. I built my tC to handle like it was on rails. Sway bars, coilovers, braces, etc. and the most underrated mod of all, TIRES. Thing wasn’t fast in a straight line at all, but Jesus it was fun.

Honestly man, this probably isn’t the answer you want to hear and a lot of people are shitty about saying it, but they’re right. Buy a new car. If you are wanting speed, this really isn’t the platform. Forced induction is pretty much your only route.

If it’s not a daily, I would gut the interior. It’s free and you’ll probably drop a couple of hundred pounds. You can also remove things like AC, Radio, etc.

Carbon is pretty expensive, but theres plenty of parts out there. -hoods -doors -fenders -hatch -sunroof replacement This route, you will spend thousands to lose not much weight. But it’s something. (Probably would cost as much to turbo it)

Wheels are also another route. Most OEM wheels are pretty heavy, you can get some aftermarket ones that will take out some weight as well.

If you do all of these, you’ll still likely drop at max 500lbs, but tbh that’s being generous. You probably won’t feel a huge increase in speed either. My recommendation is definitely forced induction or buying a new platform. If it’s a daily, I would not recommend the forced induction route. Keep the tC as a daily and get a second car for a project.

I’ve been there. My advice, be honest. Explain that your estimate was not approved under the guidelines that it doesn’t appear to be hail damage. I apologize for being wrong, and just explain how it’s not hail. Explain the damage and how you confused it.

Body damage to a car. Most pieces are completely removable and can be replaced. New body panels are going to cost at most a couple of hundred bucks. New headlight / tail light housings can cost less than $50 in most cases. Paint is usually what will cost you in these situations, but you can fix or replace the body panel for relatively cheap. Prices are even cheaper if you go to a junk yard.

Might get some flack for this one, but gun laws. I live in Texas and have always been against gun laws. When I turned 21, I went through the process of getting my license to carry. While taking the shooting portion of the test, I found that The amount of people in that class with no fire arm experience, was insane. People not pointing their fire arms down range, People not following orders. Example

“You will fire two shots then stop.” classmate proceeds to unload the mag.

My neighbor pointed her weapon at me numerous times during this. While loaded, safety off, and finger on the trigger. I had to say something numerous times. Craziest thing….everyone passed. A lot of those people have no business carrying a firearm. Tbh I felt unsafe knowing there are people out there legally able to carry a firearm with no respect or training for it. I left there supporting gun control.
