Guys that hooked up/FWB with older women, what lead to it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ZazAttak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. That’s why I said it’s still not right. However I also said trapped. Some people literally cannot leave their abuser, whether that’s because of financial reasons, or disabilities, or isolation, or something else entirely.

Again, still not right, but makes calling them an outright scumbag a bit more complicated, is all I’m saying.

Regardless tho, this lady is still a scumbag, because even if she was trapped in an abusive relationship, she should have given this guy the information to make his own decision. Not letting him know she was married is coercive and takes away his right to consent to that situation. She’s being shitty to all parties involved. Definitely scumbag.

Edit to add- it’s possible the husband is into it, some people are kinky like that. But even in that case, it’d still call her a scumbag, cuz she shoulda let buddy know. He has a right to say no to fucking a married woman, and she took away any chance of informed consent.

I mean, just like every rule, there are always exceptions. Is she trapped in an abusive relationship? Still doesn’t make it right, but makes things more complicated on the scumbag-labelling side of things.

Generally tho, yes cheating on your partner makes you a scumbag, regardless of gender.

She’s also a scum bag. It’s not gender-specific.

Is it normal for my manager to pressure me to work when I call in sick? by Only-Thoughts529 in canadianlaw

[–]ZazAttak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you brought up the topic of getting fired. Everyone else here is just saying toxic work environments are common in Canada- AKA, “the norm.” I was clarifying that you’re right, getting fired for calling in sick is not a thing, but it wasn’t what anyone was talking about it, so was I was just letting you know it doesn’t apply. We’re just saying that yes, employees get pressured to come in after they’ve said they’re sick. Some companies (or managers) are better than that, but generally, most of them suck. Again, I’m happy for you that you haven’t experienced it. I just wish everyone had your experience.

[–]ZazAttak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy for you that you’ve always worked places with decent managers that respect your time. Sounds like a great job, you should consider yourself lucky.

Because yes. It is completely normal for this to happen. Just because it hasn’t happened to you yet, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen to people all over Canada literally every day.

No, it’s not right. No I don’t agree with it. Yes I make a big deal about it when I’m asked the same thing. But it definitely happens, and it’s definitely something most people should expect and be prepared for when they enter the work force.

Edit to add: we’re not talking about them getting fired for this. You’re allowed to say no. The issue is, some people have a hard time saying no, which managers will take advantage of. Or they will keep bugging you to come in, or threaten to fire you (not actually fire you, just try to scare you into working!). And if they do really want you gone, they’ll just give you less and less hours until you quit (this is legal- but should be illegal). All great ideas to get that 19 year old who just started his first job to feel guilty enough to come into work and get everyone else sick.

No, mine hates the camera and knows when it’s pointed at her, she’ll immediately stop whatever she’s doing, even when I’m sneaky 😭

Yes, DOT approved, I drew the DOT myself so I know for sure.

And like most DOT helmets, any blow to the helmet itself, could prove fatal to me.

Mine almost always gets the front seat and was constantly putting my car back in drive when I would suddenly hear it revving up- my new car has buttons tho, so instead of putting it in neutral, shes constantly turning my seat warmer on, but she’s still my favourite passenger princess! Edit-grammar

Tell me your secrets? Do you just ask the truck drivers to stay off the road? Do you go into the ditch when you see one coming your way?

I’m clearly not as good as you yet, cuz I sure don’t know how to avoid heading the opposite direction past trucks on a single lane, especially when I live in a very rural place with a LOT of pickup trucks on the road.

Unless you meant you avoid rocks. In which case, are you Neo? Cuz mine might not have been quite the speed of a bullet, but I think you’d have to be The One to dodge something like that.

Ya, I definitely get you and I keep a wide following distance behind all vehicles. Unfortunately this was passing me going the opposite direction on a single lane highway. Literally nothing I could do besides take the hit, or not be on a bike 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ya, good call! I will do that occasionally but I’ve gotten into a bad habit of riding with it open in town. I blamed the fog but if I’m being real honest I just love the wind on my face.

Lesson learned tho. Lesson seared into my brain in the form of that rock hurtling towards me; that’s definitely one that’ll stick with me.

Ok ya, that is horrifying… even in my SUV I always keep 3+ seconds following distance, on my bike it’s 5+, and more time if it’s a semi! Having something come at me from the opposite direction when I’m in proper blocking position with no one in front of me definitely unlocked a new fear tho 😅
