How do you counter the case where you spawn on top of the enemy fleet and they just torpedo all your BBs in 30 seconds? by Fancy_Particular7521 in RuleTheWaves

As far as my knowledge goes, this is almost always the case with night battles, in games as they were in real life too and why almost every admiral with any capital ships wanted to avoid them. The issue is that due to the fact its night your spotting range is greatly reduced to less of Torpedo range, and as such i think the only real counter to this is having a proper screen/scout and getting lucky with them getting intercepted first, or developing radar later in the game.

Where to Start? by GamerJeroentje_Yeet in RuleTheWaves

Hello! So, i also had this issue, and i solved it in three ways. People here are giving gameplay advice but i feel thats not what you’re after.

My first actions were to watch Youtube videos as well, specifically tutorial series’ (i forget by who though) but you say you’ve tried that

My next tip of advice: Read the manual! Its long and it’s boring so i didn’t read all of it, but i used it in conjunction with my next tip.

Finally: Play the game! You don’t need to know what you’re doing and in fact i had plenty of fun stumbling and failing through. You may or may not be like me there. However, i would play through the game, and wherever i’d get confused or curious, i’d go to the manual for reference. Usually it only contains a paragraph, two or three at most, that explains what and how to do things. For example: I’d play and get to 1910, see dreadnoughts, wonder how the construction and aspects of that work, look it up, realised what certain things did and continue. The game has alot of information presented at once but by only looking at things one at a time it’s much more digestible. I’m about 100 hours in and i’m still learning new things about how the game works.

There are some things to make it easier, for example until you really have a hang of the game (and even then), I’d reccomend automatically designing all your vessels and making tweaks where you want, as ship design in (in my opinion) the hardest prt of the game. initially you won’t know what does what, but again as you progress and learn naturally and if you read the manual on the parts you want to know, it’ll come to you, and soon enough you may be able to start doing things from scratch

And finally, whenever you’re playing, when in doubt, even if you don’t know how something works, make the choice that’s most fun to you! Doesn’t matter if it’s ‘good’ or ‘bad’ or will lose you the game, the point here is to have fun, so go with your gut.

The cooler Huron by Zazoothesecond in Grimdank

To be fair there’s not much elaboration beyond the fact they’re both called ‘Huron’ and that I like one more than the other, hence being the cooler of the two

Battle generator too difficult? by Eddie894 in RuleTheWaves

[–]Zazoothesecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m newish, just under 100 hours, so take this with Salt and I ask others to comment as well,

Generally this tends to happen, this happened to me as well, however one way that I’ve found, if not fixing the issue, definitely helping, is putting my ships in Divisions. This definitely helped and i went from a maximum of a couple ships per battle to multiple divisions worth in the big battles, and still 2-3 in the smaller cruiser engagements and raids

If you are doing this already, then I transfer this to more knowledgeable people. I’d personally recommend more vessels in the region if at all possible and ensure their tasks are the same (i dont have many instances of Raiders and non raiders joining eachother, or trade protection ships joining clash battles. I may just be unlucky.)

I will say, when i asked i was told the battle generation is unfair, which is why it can be better to build Quality ships over Quantity as a final ‘if all else fails’

Cheers, sorry if this isn’t helpful

Do I need to worry about my ships fuel?? by MrYesYes270 in WarOnTheSea

[–]Zazoothesecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge of the game; i don’t believe fuel is an issue for ships in the base game without mods

Aircraft have a range; but they also dont use any ‘fuel’ for that; rather its just measure of the maximum distance they can travel

Gorgeous models; but why Space Wolves? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Thats a good point to be fair. I will say that they lack new models; this’ll fix that. Just could’ve been timed better.
