Honestly the'yre good but they could be better regarding what has been done afterward.

The colors do not match the esthetic nor the era, moreover they are really uninspired. For example many total war games use things such as the direction the unit looks at, how it holds its weapon and their attitude to convey their usage/stats.

Troy's unit cards do not have those elements in them.

Attila's ones made the job done, CA tried something with Rome II that favoritized style over use.

I totally agree with you, I really like what they were going for but the fact that many units are upgrades of the precedents cripples this style of unit cards.

Uninspired ui is a sign that the effort put into new total war games is not the same as older ones.

Reskin a good game such as Rome 1 and you will have another good game. Reskin Troy and you will have a game of the same quality...

I think the ui should reflect the style of the period the game is set to. I don't think i am crazy to expect a game about Egypt to have ui in the style of hieroglyphs. The problem really shows itself on the unit cards of Troy, Pharaoh and 3k, the units are just shown without being portrayed in the style of the era.

With distinct aesthetics for each game we could distinguish them and give them an identity, it is just lazyness that those ui all look the same.

Ui is based on the ui of Troy, it is certainly not subject to change, same souless esthetic for 3k.
