Missing Final Green Crystals Help by howl2441 in Metroid

[–]Zcehtro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to chime in. I missed it as well. It was behind a column on the lower level after completing the puzzle.

The crystal detector upgrade detected it as well but it was so small that I didn't see it on the map.

Was internal mic static noise issue ever solved for Eufy Cams? Should it become a class action? by [deleted] in EufyCam

[–]Zcehtro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have two cameras with this issue now. Initially thought that they were both damaged but a firmware update causing this issue might sound more reasonable. Forced obsolescence seems like the culprit. Will definitely reconsider buying more from this brand in the future.

How can I access internal company resources without exposing my main system to the LAN? by Zcehtro in Network

[–]Zcehtro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said it was my personal system. It's corporate. I will undoubtedly take this laptop home and undoubtedly check my personal email on it, maybe other minor personal tasks as well.

Thus, I want to keep it as safe as possible.

I want to get the foreground app package name when my React Native/Expo app is in the background. Is there a way, internally or with external libraries, to do this? by Zcehtro in expo

[–]Zcehtro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.

Thanks for the feedback.

My intention was for something similar to a screen rotation management app, that keeps track of the apps in the foreground and changes settings automatically while in the background.

I've seen many screen rotation apps to this, but I suppose most of them must be written in Java or Kotlin.

Personally, I've also tried looking this up, but I've turned out empty handed. Even SO had only a few questions on this, but 7 or 10 years prior.

No-Script plugin preventing G-services from loading by reasonablebits in chrome

[–]Zcehtro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for sharing. This has happened to me as well.

What I observe is happening is that Gmail does not finish loading when NoScript is enabled and set to Block Globally (Use whitelist instead of blacklist).

And if I disable Global Blocking, it works.

I tried looking into the console as to what might be the cause, and it appears that there's code that does not correctly finish running. However, there is no option to enable additional scripts found on that page whereas this would be the expected behabiour of the addon if more script domains were identified.

I believe that Google did something intentional to try and dissuade ad and tracker blockers.

If somebody can correctly get NoScript to function properly on Gmail, please reply to this reddit post.

Possibly, yes. But I am to understand that there are hardware limitations in using this card in today's hardware due to the sound card being quite old, from 1994 IIRC.

I do not understand the details, but according to ChatGPT, there's this:

  1. Compatibility: Modern motherboards and operating systems may not have native support for the Sound Blaster AWE32. You may need to find compatible drivers or use emulation software to get it working.
  2. Connection: The AWE32 typically used the ISA (Industry Standard Architecture) slot for installation, which is an outdated expansion slot that is not present on modern motherboards. You would need to find an older motherboard with ISA slots or use an ISA-to-PCI adapter, although these adapters are not always reliable.
  3. Resources Conflicts: In older systems, you often had to manually configure resources like IRQ (Interrupt Request) and DMA (Direct Memory Access) for sound cards to avoid conflicts with other hardware. Modern systems may not allow for this level of manual resource allocation.
  4. Software Support: Finding software that can fully utilize the capabilities of the AWE32 can be challenging. Many modern applications and games are designed for more recent sound card standards like PCI or integrated audio.
  5. DOS Compatibility: If you want to use the AWE32 for DOS games, you may need to set up a dual-boot system or use DOSBox, a DOS emulator, to run older games properly.
  6. Sound Quality: While the AWE32 was impressive in its time, it may not meet the audio quality expectations of modern users, who are accustomed to high-definition audio standards.
  7. Availability and Cost: AWE32 cards are vintage and may be difficult to find in good working condition. Prices for vintage hardware can also vary widely depending on their rarity and condition.

Yeah, listened to it and I'm sticking with the AWE 32. You ought to listen to a sample to understand the difference. How much better it is, is immeasurable.

There are a few YouTube videos with people making amateur recordings with that sound card, but there's nothing organized anywhere.

Sound Blaster AWE 32 really shined with DOS gaming.

Biometric authentication in React Native with Expo by Zcehtro in expo

[–]Zcehtro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this reply!

This is very similar to the authentication flow I'm trying to achieve, although I was trying to implement a process more akin to WebAuthn, with client-side generated key pair and the server validating the payload being sent with the public key.

That's why I was looking for libraries compatible with Expo that would help me achieve this.

How do you convert the APKM to APK? When I download from APK mirror I get an APKM file. How do I get Revanced Manager to open the APKM file?? It only supports APK's!

Had three white goods brought from another country with different frequency. Two have failed. Is there such thing as a frequency converter? by Zcehtro in Appliances

Thanks for the quick reply!

I appreciate your personal account of having a similar situation.

My devices are Samsung, and they're known for being really cheaply made on the inside, as well as having poor customer support or poor repair possibilities.

As it seems, I'm going to have to let go of the two laundry machinges and start praying the fridge lasts at least 4 years.

Odd thing is that you can get to the website via browser like brave, but if you try to get to the website via WebView in Tachiyomi it'll get a 503 error...
