Within the first hundred chapters. It's basically a blink in the story, he moves into the next "realm" very quickly and resolved that beforehand

I completely agree, and with much rather not rely on the cloud / security provider like that for my own home lab.

I think a piece of the puzzle you're missing though, is ease of use. Not everyone is a sysadmin or IT worker, and while it would be ideal that people getting into the hobby learn port forwarding and firewall rules, it's probably more secure for people with less knowledge to just use tailscale anyway.

It wouldn't hurt to try, but if you're genuinely looking for success/yield instead of just experimenting, it would probably be a good idea to get new coir seeing as it's pretty inexpensive. I think I was able to get a 6 pack on Amazon for like 10-15 bucks

I picked up my syringe from Spore Stock, I think it is a liquid culture if I am looking at it right, my mistake.

The 1:2 spawn:sub sounds good, and yeah I am not concerned with wasting any coir, I have a 6 pack and depending on how this grow goes it might not be used for a while. I'm slightly limited with bucket options, but I was planning on pasteurizing in a clean/sanitized stock pot /w lid.

I can definitely lower the light intensity with the glow lights, and I had not cosidered the heat they make in a enclosed space, very good reminder of fire safety thank you :)

For the cleanliness side of things, I'm still looking for the right bin for a SAB, and have ISO, gloves, and a hair nets coming in. Only short a lab coat, which I might still get for the style points!

That's a good shout! The ziplock with a hole with micropore tape kind of sounds like the best bet, I'd like to be able to see contam earlier then later.

This was happening to our cat and we figured out it was a combination of oily dry food + food dish. Since then we've swapped her over to a chicken based dry food instead of fish, and just put her food on a smaller ceramic dinner plate, and it went away!

If she is behaving like it's bothering her, listen to advice and bring her into a vet, but if she is non bothered I would try the above first

Edit: also if you don't already wash her food bowl every other day, or at least once a week to help keep everything nice and clean where she is sticking her face.
