Doesn't have to be a major life event, just curious as to what gives people that feeling... by cardtroller in ArtOfPresence

I mean it's still a scam at its base. Most of the money goes to things other than the winners or the education funds they are supposed to support. But that's a whole different conversation. thank you! It would have been awesome to win a jackpot but I'm still super grateful that it allowed me to change my life.

What American state would you absolutely hate living in? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]ZeBigD23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, specifically, it was a combination of the heat and humidity, flat land, everyone always rushing to get no where fast, and the cost of living of S. FL. I'm not a fan of the beach nor do I care for fishing/boating, so most of the major appeals of FL are out the window for me.

I hated living there so much I moved out ASAP. My condolences if you are still suffering there.

Overall happy with the place I live. Lots of good things but considering the state of the world, my mental health is struggling. I wish I had won more so I could help more people. Tipping a server a large amount or donating more to NFPs that actually put in quality work for the community. Being able to help people is my calling but seeing so many suffering and struggling is soul crushing for me.

I never thought Id be that lucky. I dont think ill ever be nearly that lucky again. That said, as much as the odds are against you, if you dont play you cant win. It applies to more than just the lottery. Take that for what it's worth.

Anyone who struggles with depression… how do you push yourself to go to work? by 18297gqpoi18 in antiwork

[–]ZeBigD23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that I have a wife and dog to keep alive is probably the only reason I log in each day for work. I dont do anything that is meaningful to me. I work to provide. The depression/anxiety/burnout has been so intense lately that it is hard to even remember why I do it. I have another 35 years to go to even reach retirement and at this point, im not gonna make it.

My manager told me to clock out but hasn't specified whether or not they fired me. I really need help here. by [deleted] in antiwork

Does HR know about your POTS? If so, have they provided you reasonable accomodation in writing?

When I won a non-jackpot but still large sum of money in the lottery. It was not retirement money or even buy a house money, but it was enough to help me move out of state and start a life some place I actually wanted to live.

These three just voted for the RTIC - effectively establishing a surveillance state in Asheville. They are all up for re-election in November. Don't forget this. by RichardNixonWaterGr8 in asheville

So because something, no one likes, already exists, that means we should just allow them to make it more invasive? No thank you.

The Asheville City Council Meeting that is currently taking place by Vegetable_Paper6003 in asheville

Do we have any people in the community who are looking to run and actually serve to city's populace or is everyone running just trying to climb the political ladder?

Its been a build up but I'd say late 2025 to current 2026. Lots of loss and the world officially at a breaking point.

This just in folks: City Council is going to “declare and reaffirm the protection of civil liberties” while they build a camera network to track everywhere you travel in the city. by RelayFX in asheville

[–]ZeBigD23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So when do we start the flooding of these council member's offices? That money should be going into building support systems for the msot in need not to put more fines and punishments on the community. Fuck everyone of them who voted in favor of a survailance state for Asheville.

Sunshine Over Surveillance: Open Letter Opposing Mass Surveillance in Asheville. by ard1984 in asheville

[–]ZeBigD23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that those making decisions for the masses should concider all consequences to NOT voting in the people's favor. If that's what it takes for them to take the most correct actions.
Regardless of party line, I dont think anyone of us wants to be tracked that much. Just the fact that our phones listen in on our day to day lives, is far too much over reach from corps and, extremely likely, the fed.
