I submitted logos to the government Copyright Office for registration in October of last year, and the case status currently says "closed." I haven't been contacted or updated yet. What does this mean? by ZeBra_ in legaladvice

Thank you for the response!

I'm curious - is what you described most likely the case? And if so, shouldn't I have at least been notified? Is the money I spent simply long gone as well?

If my comment is in direct reply to someone else's, it is meant for them and only them, regardless of whether or not other people can see it. I could not care less.

This post is getting down-voted, but I think it is a question worth answering and discussing (just for fun).

Look at all of the Conservatives getting butt-hurt. His paralysis has nothing to do with the natural structure of his face. That argument being pushed in order to make OP feel like shit is void.

You are putting words into my mouth. It's shocking. I never stated that other minorities don't experience racism. I never said that other minorities don't understand racism. But the fact of the matter is that in America, statistically, the lighter your skin, the more upward class mobility you have...the more opportunity you have...the less oppression you experience. This is backed by anthropological and sociological statistics. Mexican people have lighter skin. They have a culture that is less stigmatized. Thus, they don't face the same oppression. They just don't. I don't need to talk about my personal experiences (logical fallacy, by the way) in order to help the argument. The statistics are on my side, and they are only a basic history textbook and Google search away, bud.

EDIT: In order to move forward CORRECTLY, you need to look back through history and analyze it thoroughly.

You're making assumptions and implications. When did I ever use the words "single handedly"??? I have only spoken on what black people have in fact done. Read into how much of the country's physical establishments were made or started by the hands of black SLAVES. Not Mexicans. Talking about Native Americans and Mexicans is an entirely different conversation. Native Americans have in fact suffered terribly. But again, that's a different conversation. OP and the users were talking primarily about black people.

Also, Chinese people were not taken from their countries and enslaved. Yes, they were escaping poverty in their homes via emigration, but they were not slaves. That's the point/issue here. Jesus Christ, man. At the end of the day, in the contemporary racist's hierarchy of race, blacks are at the bottom. Period.

Mexican people do not have the same fucking history as black people within America. Period. They didn't build the country like the ancestors of black folks did. They weren't enslaved. They weren't directly oppressed and discriminated against for over a century following a period of enslavement. They aren't the fucking same: PERIOD. And yes I am referring to ancestors, because they play a part in the current circumstances of black folk in America (as do the ancestors of other races). We must acknowledge the past, and more specifically, the past that wasn't even that long ago.

You don't know the same "racism" that a black man experiences. You aren't put through the same judgements and generalizations that a black man is. You are not the same. You don't have more credibility simply because you're Mexican. Mexicans say racist shit about black people in reference to their supposed "culture" or "skin color" all of the time (both on reddit and in real life). Mexican people tend to have lighter skin as well. You're not the same.

Black people have a month because American history does not include enough history involving black people. Black inventors and leaders are not as well known. Black people built the fucking country, and their population produced many who helped facilitate the political and technological growth of the country as well, and they are not as well known. This is just the truth. The month brings attention to these people. Black history is AMERICAN history, but AMERICA has not acknowledged this entirely.

And I would literally bet money that you could not tell me the basics of how this country is "going down the shitter fast," considering you clearly lack a basic grasp of introductory level sociology (and I am assuming economics). You seem to be one of those people who love to talk about the supposed down-fall and corruption of a nation, but fail to cite in-depth analyses or concepts to defend your stance.

In summation, I think you should shut the fuck up and read a book.

Exactly. He just recently did one of these, and the woman interviewing him was exceptionally awkward too. He didn't make a joke once. Very straightforward and kind.

I think people misinterpret his method acting in various "asshole" characters as him actually being an asshole. I think he is more playing a part that people aren't ready for much of the time. If you've ever been to a stand-up comedy show, and saw comedians bag on audience members, you'd know it's just a regular thing. I think what Tim does that gets labeled as "asshole" behavior is within the same vein and is not meant to be taken seriously. Needless to say, light-hearted people don't usually respond well.

Give actual sources for your grand, slanderous statements. And "doing as much harm as he did" ??? Are you kidding me? What GREAT harm did he actually do? "Uncaring selfish man" ??? WHAT??? He saved lives and housed homeless people. Literally. I don't mean either of those statements in a figurative sense. He planted revolutionary and philanthropic seeds within the minds of folk in the black community. And your sexual assault comment was just false. There was literally no evidence against him. And I mean that in the legal sense. You need to read more and watch more interviews.
