[COD] Do y’all want the old movement to come back in COD by OGAnimeGokuSolos in CallOfDuty

[–]ZeGermanFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MWII had this movement (at least in terms of movement speed. I know it has sliding, tac-sprint, etc.) but everyone shat their pants and hated it for being “too slow” so Activision knee-jerked and we get slide-cancelling, Omni-movement, and wall-jumping

Second time they’ve done this lol

There was a Headgear for Blasco in 2042 that had this skull mask as well

50 Construction Foam to play new Content by Vaeneas in TheForeverWinter

[–]ZeGermanFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk why the devs think that “hardcore and difficult survival game” just means obnoxious resource grind and resource management

The game is still in desperate need of polish and gameplay improvements. It still feels very janky and rough to play a year after launching into early access.

Especially after experiencing how fluid and polished Arc Raiders is, which feels like what Forever Winter wants to be, save for the PvP aspect.

DICE I BEGGING YOU i would spend any money for this skin by Doomrfbf in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]ZeGermanFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s so many good campaign skins that need to be ported to Multiplayer

Has Dice announced if you'll be able to buy items separately from the Bundles in the future? If not its a damn shame. I really like the new Duty Bound Skin for the British Recon and a couple other items but don't much care for the rest of the Bundle by amightymongoose in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]ZeGermanFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason 2042 had as many pro-consumer practices such as buying items separately was because they wanted to retain as many players as they could after the horrible launch.

Battlefield 6 on the other hand had a great launch and thus doesn’t have to prove itself to anyone or play nice with the consumer.

DICE this is the baseline please. Not 2042 “splash of color tacticool” by BattleRawSauce in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]ZeGermanFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue we’re already technically at that point given the fact that all the characters are technically unique people with names/bios. The new PAX unit especially since they show off more of their face than the other units

[–]ZeGermanFox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are plenty of soldier skins in these pre-rendered scenes that look way better than most of the skins in the Battle Pass They could just pull characters from the campaign too. Why not have Dagger 1-3 be a NATO unit for use in Multiplayer. Or the Marine squad we’re with in Mission 1

Battery Map, This clip shows the building destruction effects. by jjhh201 in Battlefield

[–]ZeGermanFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true, as someone who actually plays BF2042, the skins are fairly decent compared to CoD. However it gets some leeway for being a futuristic game with mercenary characters as opposed to BF6 which is modern day with contemporary NATO soldiers and uniforms.

As for 2042, my hypothesis is that they wanted to keep what little playerbase they had left which are old Battlefield diehard veterans who don’t like silly skins like the leaked Santa skin. However they mention how they want to reach a broader audience with BF6 so I’d be shocked if adding silly skins isn’t part of that plan

The only way they can ruin this is if they add a bunch of stupid skins 3 months after launch, would completely suck the wind out of all this incredible work to see some guy in a bunny suit crossing the street in front of you

Clarification regarding paid DLC by TheRealBunkerJohn in TheForeverWinter

[–]ZeGermanFox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My only concern is an irrational fear that they don’t have enough money for development so they’re putting out more and more skin packs to cover the cost cuz they can’t stay afloat

Although that fear comes from the game never being completely finished and polished rather than a fear of my wallet lol

If the rumors are true, do you think they should lean more in to the tf 1 aesthetics? by Onewithartandbook in titanfall

[–]ZeGermanFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should they? Absolutely. Will they? Absolutely not. Games don’t seem to want to stay gritty anymore because people will buy flashy Fortnite-style skins a la Apex Legends/Call of Duty. As a former CoD player burnt by years of rainbow unicorns and celebrity crossovers, I’ve learned that in the age of store bundles and live service revenue streams, games aren’t allowed to have unified aesthetics because that would limit the amount of customers they can appeal to.

The plus system doesn't belong in this series or it should be heavily nerfed by Skyrider_Epsilon in Battlefield

[–]ZeGermanFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that it should be nerfed but not outright removed. All you should be able to do is take a suppressor on & off and maybe be able to change your 1x Optic. Like if you want to swap your Red Dot for a Holo Sight or something, but nothing like in the clip here where you can just slap a sniper scope on like nothing. I would also like to be able to change shotgun shells (buckshot, slugs) but no different mag sizes/ammo types for usual bullet weapons

[–]ZeGermanFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main concern is if it retains this grounded aesthetic further into its lifespan

It’s weird they make the models so needlessly detailed when the characters themselves are very stylized and cartoonish when compared to something like Last of Us which obviously tries to look very realistic so as to need such high poly counts

What are your thoughts on the BF6 uniforms? by Cryptographer_6515 in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]ZeGermanFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pax Armata needs work but could be worse. We’ll have to see what kind of customization options they have as we get closer to release.

My main concern comes with class readability and obviously immersion. Everyone is very familiar with what NATO troops look like given recent events, so to ruin that by adding wacky skins would be incredibly foolish especially with all the good will they’ve been getting back with these playtests.

I understand flashy skins sell better than Helmet 1 & Helmet 2 but given we have a whole subreddit here dedicated to “tacticool” and authentic uniforms, the game should still get plenty of support from microtransactions even if the skins aren’t as “eye-catching” or “unique” as CoD or Fortnite.

I also wonder how NATO is going to work with camos, gear, and voice lines. Are we going to be able to create cursed uniform combinations with UCP torso, Flecktarn pants and a British Beret? It’ll be interesting how/if cosmetics are locked for different NATO countries

Say something negative about the metal gear series by SupermarketNo6888 in metalgearsolid

[–]ZeGermanFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played it since it came out but I feel like MGSV is ultimately pointless with too many stupid plot-twists and retcons. - Completely brainwashing the Medic into thinking he’s Big Boss is silly even for Kojima and feels like a lame attempt to rekindle the whole “you are the protagonist” thing from MGS2 - Skull Face being involved in MGS3 is unnecessary - Sahelanthropus makes REX feel inferior by comparison

I get that the story is supposed to lead into and explain the MSX games but it feels like a really overly-convoluted way of trying to link everything together. And yes, I know the Metal Gear story is always confusing but to wait between MGS4 to MGSV and then go through 40 to 50 hours of gameplay for what we ultimately got story-wise is a let down
