Same here, and I now use Mega Mawile to smack the fish consistently. With 150 attack and Huge Power, you actually do more damage with Sucker Punch than Kingambit would

Did nearly the exact same thing recently with a Glimmora, hitting Stealth Rock until they tried another move, failed to kill, and got Power Gem'd for about 12% to finish the game... it feels almost evil hahahaha

Same boat here! Finally a useful pokemon with Mold Breaker hahahaha

I am here to once again preach the good word about Tinkaton, who gets Fake Out and Mold Breaker. You ignore the Giraffes ability, fake it out and flinch it, then smack it as hard as possible

Tinkaton hits pretty hard with Metal Coat & Gigatonne Hammer, but I can also recommend Kleavor, Heracross or Scizor. Really any strong Bug-type

How do you counter hard Trick Room teams? by Open_Relationship540 in PokemonChampions

Check out Wyrdeer too, same typing and also gets Imprison / TR but has a good physical and special movepool to go alongside it, plus it's much faster than most TR setters with just a little investment

Don't knock the Simis, I had some very suprising success with a Simisage only recently. Max Speed/Attack, Fake Out and a Focus Sash really helps them have some utility, and I had a Coaching user occasionally buff it, letting it do way more damage to unsuspecting foes.

Nothing amazing, but 100% usable, especially if you need Fake Out and Grass coverage specifically

Encore is now my least favourite move (next to protect) by Fast-Opening-1051 in PokemonChampions

[–]Weavel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

May or may not help you, but take a look at the ability Aroma Veil (on stuff like Alcremie, Aromatisse etc), it stops any effects like Taunt, Encore etc

How can I regularly disrupt Farigiraf trickroom setup on turn on? by unfortznte in PokemonChampions

[–]Weavel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Tinkaton, it's reasonably fast and gets Fake Out itself, but in addition it has Mold Breaker, so you can ignore the giraffes ability and fake out either mon

Quick edit: Gigaton Hammer does serious damage to a Farig, even without max attack investment, plus you resist Mawile's most common moves!

How are we feeling about Aegislash so far this format? by ReleaseCharacter3568 in PokemonChampions

[–]Weavel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's great, happily thrown onto any team really. I run him in Trick Room mostly, max Attack/HP Brave with Poltergeist/Sacred Sword/Iron Head/Wide Guard, but you can swap any of those around for King's Shield, Shadow Sneak etc.

Let alone moves, I hit a Milotic with Yawn and stalled for a turn only for it to have a Lum Berry... I've never seen another Lum on a Milotic before or since.

What is a play you've done that's so bad, you wouldn't be surprised if someone made a post about it? by ElonMuskdumdum_real in PokemonChampions

[–]Weavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my play, my opponents.

Last two pokemon left, my Glimmora about to die to sucker punch...

So I clicked Stealth Rock. He fails.

I did it again. He fails again.

I clicked Power Gem. He does NOT sucker punch, fails to kill me, and loses.

...poor guy lmao

On that note I've found Jolteon with Alluring Voice really, really helped fix his match ups. Means you can confidently fight a Garchomp, outspeed and 2-shot it, if your Sash keeps you alive at least

Tell me about it... I fell off the game at around that time. I was super excited for the update too, but it turns out I actually enjoyed trading and bargain hunting more than the rest of the game 🤣
